Metal matrix composite tape fabrication, braiding, and consolidation to form metal matrix composite parts
Systems and methods are provided for braiding Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) tape. One method includes drawing multiple lanes of MMC tape, comprising a matrix of metal reinforced by fibers, from bobbins arranged around a mandrel. The method also includes braiding the multiple lanes to form a preform at the mandrel for an MMC part and consolidating the preform via application of heat and pressure.
HOUSING OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH DIFFERENT BONDED METALS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A housing of an electronic device includes two or more metal portions, each having an oxide film layer formed on a surface thereof, and a non-conductive portion formed to cover at least a portion of the oxide film layer.
ALUMINUM ALLOY HUB AND METHOD FOR COATING SURFACE OF ALUMINUM ALLOY HUB
The application relates to an aluminum alloy hub and a method for coating the surface of the aluminum alloy hub. The aluminum alloy hub is provided with an aluminum alloy matrix and a coating attached to the surface of the aluminum alloy matrix, and the coating sequentially includes a pre-coating layer formed by nickel-coated aluminum or aluminum-coated nickel powder, a Cr.sub.3C.sub.2 layer and a varnish layer on the surface of the aluminum alloy matrix. According to the aluminum alloy hub disclosed by the invention, more excellent corrosion resistance is obtained by spraying the Cr.sub.3C.sub.2 layer on the surface of the aluminum alloy hub.

Multistage joining process with thermal sprayed layers
Method for joining of at least two unweldable materials, non-weldable directly to each other with thermal joining processes in a lap joint configuration, where a two step sequence is used consisting of a first step to apply a thermomechanical or mechanical surface protection layer on the surface of an unweldable material and a second step, where a thermal joining process is used to joint the sprayed layer with an applied layer sheet.

ZINC THARMAL SPLAYING MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME AND THARMAL SPLAYING DEVICE
A zinc spraying material comprises a zinc material containing zinc; and a sulfate salt whose solubility in water is 1/8 or more of the solubility of calcium sulfate. The content of the sulfate salt in the zinc spraying material can be 0.006 to 0.14 mol based on 100 g of the content of the zinc material. Note that the sulfate salt can be at least one of potassium sulfate, sodium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, calcium sulfate, ferric sulfate, ferrous sulfate, lithium sulfate, calcium sulfate, and aluminum sulfate. Also, the zinc material is zinc. Alternatively, the zinc material can also be a zinc alloy containing zinc as the main component and at least one metal selected from aluminum and magnesium.
Coating
A method of assessing the quality of a bond coat for bonding a ceramic coating to a metallic substrate comprises determining a thresholded summit area for the bond coat.
