This invention relates to a device (1) for performing personal care operations on a subject. The device (1) comprises a handheld base body (3), a driving unit (400) to receive and drive an interchangeable treatment head (2) to perform the personal care operation, a sensor (7) for measuring the amount of current drawn from a motor arrangement (5, 6) while the driving unit (400) is being operated. The device (1) further comprises a control unit (8) operably connected to the sensor (7) and the driving unit (400) and configured to control the driving unit (400). The control unit (8) is configured to identify the individual treatment head (2) fitted on the driving unit (400) by comparing the measured motor current at the predefined measuring time (t1) with at least one predefined current threshold (C).

In one embodiment, the system includes a brush head that moves with respect to a brush handle; an energy harvester that generates electrical signals based on movements of the brush head; a controller in electrical communication with the energy harvester; and an indicator in electrical communication with the controller. The indicator is energized based on a signal from the controller.

A device for reducing a level of infectious agents present on one or more hands of a user. This device may reduce the level of infectious agents present on one or more fingers and/or thumbs of a user, specifically reducing a level of infectious agents present on the distal aspect of the digit; including, but not limited to an underside of a nail plate, and an area of hyponychium skin between a free margin of the nail plate and an onychodermal band of a digit, such as for example, a finger, thumb, or toe.

An applicator and methods of dispensing liquid. The applicator may include a reservoir with a body and a pad. The body may extend around and form a receptacle. The pad may be attached to the body. An actuator may be movably connected to the reservoir and may include a plunger. The plunger may be movable relative to the body in a first direction to drive the liquid from the receptacle and into the pad and a second direction to move the plunger away from the pad.

A skin cleanser includes a surface, such as a silicone surface, with at least one textured portion for transmitting vibrational tapping to the skin. The skin cleanser includes at least one oscillating motor for generating the tapping motion to the skin. The textured portion includes touch-points or a wave that transmit the tapping motion to skin in contact with the textured portions. The touch-points may include thicker and thinner formations of the touch-points to provide firmer or softer vibrations to the skin. The touch-points are within about 0.5 to 2.5 mm in diameter. One configuration includes multiple oscillating motors configured to provide different vibration frequencies at around 50-300 Hertz and operable simultaneously.

A foot and toe washer may have telescopic sections locking into place in an extended state convenient to the user such that not all extensions may be used. Locking mechanisms for locking one extension to another internal extension may comprise a spring-loaded ball and associated orifice or extensions having larger or smaller diameters at ends with rough surfaces so the extensions lock into place by friction when used or comprise twisting grooves on the surfaces of two extensions. In one embodiment, the foot and toe washer is preferably made of strong, light-weight plastic or hard, tough rubber and may have a rubber-coated handle with the extensions extending therefrom as desired. The furthest extension from the handle may have a connecting and locking mechanism of the spring-loaded ball and orifice type or the friction type to connect one of a sponge, a between-the-toes washer, a brush or wash cloth or combination thereof. The sponge may have an associated soap or medicated soap dispenser for treating athlete's foot. The handle end may comprise a lanyard for hanging the foot and toe washer in a shower or locker or a wristlet for carrying the foot and toe washer in the shower.
