The present invention relates a coating powder comprising a rare earth oxyfluoride (Ln-O—F) and having: an average particle size (D.sub.50) of 0.1 to 10 μm, a pore volume of pores having a diameter of 10 μm or smaller of 0.1 to 0.5 cm.sup.3/g as measured by mercury intrusion porosimetry, and a ratio of the maximum peak intensity (S0) assigned to a rare earth oxide (Ln.sub.xO.sub.y) in the 2θ angle range of from 20° to 40° to the maximum peak intensity (S1) assigned to the rare earth oxyfluoride (Ln-O—F) in the same range, S0/S1, of 1.0 or smaller in powder X-ray diffractometry using Cu-Kα rays or Cu-Kα.sub.1 rays.

Provided are a refractory article, an anti-redox coating composition, and a method of manufacturing the refractory article. The refractory article includes: a platinum (Pt)-based substrate; and a coating layer for preventing a redox reaction on a surface of the Pt-based substrate, wherein the coating layer for preventing a redox reaction includes on an oxide basis SiO.sub.2 in an amount of about 40 wt % to about 70 wt %, Al.sub.2O.sub.3 in an amount of about 20 wt % to about 52 wt %, B.sub.2O.sub.3 in an amount of about 3 wt % to about 6 wt %; and CaO in an amount of about 2.4 wt % to about 4.8 wt %.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR IN SITU PIPE REPAIR
A system for in situ repair of a metal pipe has a pipe repair head, an actuation assembly, an electrical power supply, and a controller. The pipe repair head can have an arm extending along a radiation direction of the pipe and a Joule heating element coupled to a distal end portion of the arm. The actuation assembly can move the pipe repair head along the axial and/or circumferential directions of the metal pipe. The controller controls the actuation assembly to position the pipe repair head with respect to a surface portion of the inner circumferential wall. The controller can then control the electrical power supply to apply a current pulse to the Joule heating element so as to generate a temperature of at least 1000° C. proximal to the surface portion, thereby sintering a metal powder in a slurry on the surface portion to form a metal repair layer.
DOWNHOLE MOTOR OR PUMP WITH STATOR MANUFACTURED WITH COLD SPRAY
A downhole motor or pump assembly that includes a stator and a rotor rotatable within the stator. The stator includes a tubular housing and an overlay deposited by cold spray onto an interior of the housing to form overlay lobes along a first length of the stator. The downhole motor or pump may be used to perform downhole operations.

The present invention provides an iron-aluminum-based plated steel sheet, and a manufacturing method therefor, the iron-aluminum-based plated steel sheet comprising a base steel sheet and a plated layer formed on the surface of the base steel sheet, wherein the alloy plated layer comprises: a diffusion layer comprising an Fe—Al-based intermetallic compound having a cubic structure; and an alloyed layer formed on the diffusion layer and composed of an alloy phase differing from that of the cubic structure, the thickness of the diffusion layer is 3-20 μm, and the thickness of the diffusion layer is greater than 50% of the total thickness of the plated layer.

The present invention relates to a coating material for the production of an anti-corrosion and/or adhesion promoter layer, which material comprises metal powder and a phosphate-ion-containing solution as the binder, the metal powder being at least partially coated with Si or Si alloys or the binder consisting of phosphoric acid and metal phosphates and being substantially free of chromates. The invention further relates to a method for producing an anti-corrosion and/or adhesion promoter layer, comprising the following steps: Providing a coating material, such as indicated above, applying the coating material to a component surface on which the anti-corrosion and/or adhesion promoter layer is to be created, and drying and/or hardening by way of a heat treatment at a first temperature.

A coating process comprising applying to a surface a coating composition consisting essentially of an alkali metal silicate and an aqueous liquid phase having dispersed therein solid aluminum particles to form on the surface a wet coating; and drying said wet coating: under conditions which convert said wet coating to an electrically conductive, corrosion-resistant, solid coating; or under conditions which form a solid coating which is not electrically conductive (non-conductive) and thereafter treating said non-conductive coating under conditions which convert said non-conductive coating to an electrically conductive, corrosion-resistant coating.

A composite component may include a substrate including a first material and defining a surface; and at least one feature attached to the surface of the substrate. The at least one feature may include a second, different material attached to the surface using cold spraying. Cold spraying may include accelerating particles of the second material toward the surface without melting the particles.
COATED METAL SHEET, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND EXTERIOR BUILDING MATERIAL
This coated metal sheet is for exterior covering, and has a metal sheet and a top coating layer disposed on the metal sheet. The top coating layer is configured from a fluororesin and contains 0.01-15 vol % of microporous particles as a gloss control agent, and the coated metal sheet satisfies the belowmentioned formulae. In the belowmentioned formulae, in the number-based particle size distribution of the gloss control agent, R is the number average particle size (μm), D.sub.97.5 is the 97.5% particle size (μm), Ru is the upper limit particle size (μm), and T is the top coating layer thickness (μm): D.sub.97.5/T≦0.9; Ru≦1.2T; R≧1.0; and 3≦T≦40.

Provided is a ceramic coating intended to be applied on a metal support and having the form of at least a continuous film having a thickness between 2 and 100 μm, this coating comprising a matrix including at least a metal polyalkoxide and wherein are dispersed particles whereof the diameter ranges between 0.01 and 50 μm, said particles being from a material having a thermal conductivity equal to or higher than 10 W.Math.m.sup.−1.Math.K.sup.−1 and a bulk density of at the most 3.9 g/cm.sup.3. Also provided is an article, for example culinary, comprising such a coating and its method of manufacture.
