WIRE MATERIAL FOR CANTED COIL SPRING AND CANTED COIL SPRING
A wire material for a canted coil spring includes a core wire composed of a steel having a pearlite structure, a copper plating layer covering the outer peripheral surface of the core wire, the copper plating layer being composed of copper or a copper alloy, and a hard layer disposed adjacent to the outer periphery of the copper plating layer, the hard layer having a higher hardness than the copper plating layer. The steel constituting the core wire contains 0.5% or more by mass and 1.0% or less by mass carbon, 0.1% or more by mass and 2.5% or less by mass silicon, and 0.3% or more by mass and 0.9% or less by mass manganese, the balance being iron and unavoidable impurities.
SUPERALLOY TARGET
A superalloy target wherein the superalloy target has a polycrystalline structure of random grain orientation, the average grain size in the structure is smaller than 20 m, and the porosity in the structure is smaller than 10%. Furthermore, the invention includes a method of producing a superalloy target by powder metallurgical production, wherein the powder-metallurgical production starts from alloyed powder(s) of a superalloy and includes the step of spark plasma sintering (SPS) of the alloyed powder(s).
AIRFOIL WITH IMPROVED COATING SYSTEM AND METHODS OF FORMING THE SAME
A coating system for a surface of a superalloy component is provided. The coating system includes a MCrAlY coating on the surface of the superalloy component, where M is Ni, Fe, Co, or a combination thereof. The MCrAlY coating generally has a higher chromium content than the superalloy component. The MCrAlY coating also includes a platinum-group metal aluminide diffusion layer. The MCrAlY coating includes Re, Ta, or a mixture thereof. Methods are also provided for forming a coating system on a surface of a superalloy component.
Plated steel sheet and method producing same
A plated steel sheet including an alloy plating layer formed on a surface of the steel sheet consisting of, in mass %, Cr: 5 to 91%, Fe: 0.5 to 10%, and the balance: Ni and unavoidable impurities, the Ni concentration gradually decreases from an outermost surface of the alloy plating layer to a side of the steel sheet, Ni/Cr>1 in an area extending 300 nm or more from the outermost surface of the alloy plating layer, the Fe concentration in the alloy plating layer gradually decreases from the side of the steel sheet to the outermost surface, the Fe concentration in the outermost surface 0.5% or less, the total thickness of an alloy layer formed in the alloy plating layer and containing Cr and Fe is 500 to 2000 nm, and the total amount of the alloy plating layer deposited to the steel sheet is 4.5 to 55.5 g/m.sup.2.

A method for converting an existing steam methane reformer (SMR) to produce hydrogen via ammonia cracking is provided. The method can include the steps of: providing the existing SMR, wherein the SMR was formerly used to produce hydrogen from a hydrocarbon feedstock; and improving the nitridation resistance of the inner surface of the equipment by adding a protective layer to an inner surface of equipment to be used in the existing SMR, wherein the equipment is selected from the group consisting of a catalyst tube, feed piping, a feed preheater, process gas heat exchangers, and combination thereof.

The present invention provides a thermal barrier coated component, monitoring or evaluation of the soundness of which is able to be adequately carried out on the basis of the thermal boundary conditions that are detected by a sensor. A thermal barrier coated component according to the present invention comprises: a base material; a first bond coat layer that is a metal bonding layer formed on the base material; a sensor unit that comprises a sensor and a conductive wire, which are formed on the first bond coat layer; a second bond coat layer that is formed on the first bond coat layer so as to cover at least the sensor unit, while having a surface roughness higher than that of the first bond coat layer; and a top coat layer that is formed on the second bond coat layer.
Transient liquid phase bonding of surface coatings and metal-covered materials
A method for bonding components is disclosed. The method may comprise positioning an interlayer between a metallic component and a metal-plated non-metallic component at a bond region, heating the bond region to a bonding temperature to produce a liquid at the bond region, and maintaining the bond region at the bonding temperature until the liquid has solidified to form a bond between the metallic component and the metal-plated non-metallic component at the bond region. A method for providing a part having a customized coating is also disclosed. The method may comprise applying a metallic coating on a surface of a metallic substrate, and bonding the metallic coating to the metallic substrate by a transient liquid phase bonding process to provide the part having the customized coating.
