This manufacturing method of a hot press-formed article includes a heating step of heating an Al-plated steel sheet and a forming step of obtaining a hot press-formed article using a die after the heating step, the Al-plated steel sheet has a base steel sheet, an Al plating layer, and a coating layer, the coating layer is a metal layer containing at least one metal of Mg, Ca, V, Ti, and Zn, a metal oxide layer containing an oxide of one or more of Mg, Ca, V, Ti, and Zn, or a mixed layer including the metal layer and the metal oxide layer, the die has a hard layer on a surface, HV.sub.Die that is a surface hardness of the die at a position of the hard layer is HV1500 or more and HV3800 or less, and a temperature Tm of the Al-plated steel sheet at a start of forming and an average movement velocity V of the die in the forming step satisfy 800−(HV.sub.Die/40)≤Tm≤850−(V/4)−(HV.sub.Die/100).
High performance film-type touch sensor
A high performance touch sensor according to the present invention comprises: a substrate; a first detection electrode formed on the substrate; an insulation layer formed on the first detection electrode; a second detection electrode formed on the insulation layer; and a protection layer formed on the second detection electrode, wherein one of the first detection electrode and the second detection electrode has a triple-film structure including a metal oxide and a thin film metal laminated on each other, and the other one includes a metal pattern. Therefore, the present invention can implement touch sensor having a high resolution and a large area while simultaneously satisfying a low resistance characteristic and an optical characteristic, facilitate progress of a high-temperature process, and diversify the substrate.
Method of facilitating visual detection of a crack in a component of a gas turbine engine
A component of a gas turbine engine comprises a substrate, a corrosion resistant top layer, and an intermediate corrodible layer disposed between the corrosion resistant top layer and the substrate. When corroding, the intermediate layer has a color contrasting with a color of the top layer. A method of detecting a crack when it penetrated the top layer in a component of a gas turbine engine having a corrosion resistant top layer and an intermediate corrodible layer comprises, in sequence, observing that at least one area of the component has a color contrasting with that of the top layer; determining that the color of the at least one area is a result of corrosion of the intermediate corrodible layer; and determining that the top layer has a crack as a result of determining corrosion of the intermediate layer. A method of facilitating crack detection in a component is also presented.
Method of making corrosion resistant and glossy appearance coating for light metal workpiece
A metal workpiece, such as a wheel, and a method of providing an enhanced corrosion resistant surface coating on an exposed surface of a metal or alloy substrate (such as magnesium). A corrosion resistance basecoat is formed, including generating an oxide layer, and applying a first primer coating onto at least a portion of the oxide layer. The method may further include identifying highest corrosion prone areas on the substrate and designing a support rack that avoids contact with these corrosion prone areas. The method also includes forming a topcoat over at least a portion of the basecoat, by applying a second primer coating onto at least a portion of the first primer coating and depositing a sputtered metallic film onto the second primer coating using a physical vapor deposition technique. A clear coat layer may be applied over the metallic film.

Disclosed are a high-dielectric and method of manufacturing the same, a target material used for manufacturing the high-dielectric, an electronic device including the high-dielectric, and an electronic apparatus including the electronic device. The high-dielectric includes a first material including oxygen and at least two components, and a second material different from the first materials. The first material is a dielectric having a dielectric constant greater than a dielectric constant of silicon oxide, and the second material is an element for reducing a crystallization temperature of the first material. The content of the second material with respect to the first material may be within a range that does not deteriorate leakage current characteristics of the first material. The content of the second material may be in a range of about 0.1 atomic % to about 10 atomic %, about 0.1 atomic % to about 8.5 atomic %, or about 0.1 atomic % to about 2 atomic %.

A thin-film solar cell comprising a substrate, a first electrode layer arranged upon the substrate, a p-type light absorption layer formed by a group I-III-IV.sub.2 compound arranged upon the first electrode layer, and an n-type second electrode layer arranged upon the p-type light absorption layer. The p-type light absorption layer includes Cu as a group 1 element and includes Ga and In as group III elements. The ratio of the atomic number between Cu and the group III elements in the entire p-type light absorption layer is lower than 1.0; the ratio of the atomic number between Ga and the group III elements in the surface on the second electrode layer side is no more than 0.13; and the ratio of the atomic number between Cu and the group III elements in the surface on the second electrode layer side is at least 1.0.

A surface-treated metal plate including: a metal plate; and a nickel-cobalt binary alloy layer formed on the metal plate. When a part having a content ratio of oxygen atoms of 5 atomic % or more as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis is an oxide coating film, the nickel-cobalt binary alloy layer contains the oxide coating film with a thickness of 0.5 to 30 nm on a surface thereof, and when a pressure cooker test including temperature increasing, retention for 72 hours under a water-vapor atmosphere at a temperature of 105° C. and a relative humidity of 100% RH, and temperature decreasing is performed, the amount of increase in the thickness of the oxide coating film is 28 nm or less.

A method of manufacture of an extreme ultraviolet reflective element includes: providing a substrate; forming a multilayer stack on the substrate, the multilayer stack includes a plurality of reflective layer pairs having a first reflective layer and a second reflective layer for forming a Bragg reflector; and forming a capping layer on and over the multilayer stack, the capping layer formed from titanium oxide, ruthenium oxide, niobium oxide, ruthenium tungsten, ruthenium molybdenum, or ruthenium niobium, and the capping layer for protecting the multilayer stack by reducing oxidation and mechanical erosion.

The at least one platinum group element contained in the platinum group portion is preferably one or more of Ru, Rh, Os, and Ir.
