Water removal from anti-agglomerate LDHIs

A method of controlling corrosion in a subsea pipeline is disclosed which includes supplying a low dose inhibitor stream (LDHI) comprised of a quaternary amine and drying with a desiccant.

Temporary corrosion protection layer

A method for producing a component made of a steel product coated with an Al—Si protective coating, includes: providing a substrate consisting of a steel produced coated with an Al—Si protective coating, heating the substrate to a temperature T1 such that the Al—Si protective coating is only partially pre-alloyed with Fe of the steel product, cooling the pre-alloyed substrate to room temperature, applying a corrosion protection oil to the surface of the pre-alloyed substrate, wherein the oil consists of a composition containing fatty acid ester, transporting the pre-alloyed substrate to which the oil has been applied, heating the pre-alloyed substrate to which the oil has been applied to a temperature T2 such that the Al—Si protective coating is fully alloyed with Fe of the steel product and the oil is removed without leaving residue, and shaping the re-heated substrate to form the component.

We disclose the use of an aliphatic tertiary amino functional compound to suppress H.sub.2S formation of a sulfur-based corrosion inhibitor during storage of the sulfur-based corrosion inhibitor in a substantially enclosed container. Thus, disclosed herein is a stabilized corrosion inhibitor composition comprising a sulfur-based corrosion inhibitor and an aliphatic tertiary amino functional compound. Also disclosed herein is a method of storing a corrosion inhibitor composition by combining a sulfur-based corrosion inhibitor and an aliphatic tertiary amino functional compound to form a stabilized corrosion inhibitor composition; and storing the stabilized corrosion inhibitor composition in a substantially enclosed container for a storage period, wherein substantially no H.sub.2S is formed within the container during the storage period.

Disclosed are methods for inhibiting the corrosion of metal containments such as carbon-steel pipes used in oil recovery processes, the methods comprising adding urine and/or compositions comprising urine to water sources to form corrosion inhibitor compositions, and contacting metal containments with the corrosion inhibitor compositions. The water sources are for example aqueous solutions that are corrosive to metal containments such as carbon-steel pipes. Compositions comprising urine that provide reduced corrosion or corrosion inhibition are also described. Metal containment assemblages comprising corrosion inhibitor compositions and a metal containment are also described.
