Electrolysis cell having resilient holding elements

An electrolysis cell includes an anode chamber and a cathode chamber separated by an ion-exchange membrane. The electrolysis cell includes an anode, a cathode, and a cathode current distributor. The anode, the ion-exchange membrane, the cathode, and the cathode current distributor are in direct touching contact in the mentioned order. Flexibly resilient holding elements are arranged on the other side of the anode and/or on the other side of the cathode current distributor. The flexibly resilient holding elements exert a contact pressure on the anode and/or on the cathode current distributor. The flexibly resilient holding elements have annular elements, the axis of which is oriented in the height direction of the electrolysis cell. By means of the flexibly resilient and in part also plastically deforming annular elements, effective mechanical contact pressure of the ion-exchange membrane against the oxygen-depolarized cathode is achieved.

A method of generating electrical power or hydrogen from thermal energy is disclosed. The method includes separating, by a selectively permeable membrane, a first saline solution from a second saline solution, receiving, by the first saline solution and/or the second saline solution, thermal energy from a heat source, and mixing the first saline solution and the second saline solution in a controlled manner, capturing at least some salinity-gradient energy as electrical power as the salinity difference between the first saline solution and the second saline solution decreases. The method further includes transferring, by a heat pump, thermal energy from the first saline solution to the second saline solution, causing the salinity difference between the first saline solution and the second saline solution to increase.

ALTERNATING CURRENT ELECTROLYSIS SYSTEM, AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

An alternating current electrolysis system, as well as a method and a device for controlling the alternating current electrolysis system are provided. The method includes: acquiring a voltage amplitude at an alternating current side of an electrolysis rectification power supply; and modifying an output parameter of the electrolysis rectification power supply based on the voltage amplitude. Compared with the conventional technology, the problem of oscillation of a power grid due to unbalanced power of the alternating current electrolysis system is effectively solved, thereby facilitating normal operation of a electrolysis station.
