Flexible artificial leaves for hydrogen production and methods for making
Devices for photoelectrodes for water splitting based on indium nanowires on flexible substrates as well as methods of manufacture by transferring nanowire arrays to flexible substrates.
Membrane-less reactor design and process for biotransformation of carbon dioxide
The present invention discloses a membrane-less reactor design for microbial electrosynthesis of alcohols from carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2). The membrane-less reactor design thus facilitates higher and efficient CO.sub.2 transformation to alcohols via single pot microbial electrosynthesis. The reactor design operates efficiently avoiding oxygen contact at working electrode without using membrane, in turn there is an increase in CO.sub.2 solubility and its bioavailability for subsequent CO.sub.2 conversion to alcohols at faster rate. The present invention further provides a process of operation of the reactor for biotransformation of the carbon dioxide.
PERFORATED PLATE STRUCTURE, SUCH AS AN ELECTRODE
A plate structure, such as a plate electrode, comprising two outer layers and an intermediate layer. Both outer layers are provided with a pattern of recesses, such as hexagonal or circular recesses. The recesses on one outer layer are offset with respect to the recesses in the other outer layer. The intermediate layer comprises through-holes, each through-hole connecting a recess at one outer layer with a partially overlapping recess at the opposite outer layer.

MEMBRANELESS HYDROGEN ELECTROLYZER WITH STATIC ELECTROLYTE
A hydrogen electrolyzer cell includes a shared reservoir, anode and cathode chambers, and a dividing wall. The shared reservoir holds an electrolytic solution. The anode chamber extends up from the shared reservoir and includes an anode electrode for producing oxygen gas during an electrolysis of the electrolytic solution. An oxygen degassing region is integrated into the anode chamber above the anode electrode. The cathode chamber extends up from the shared reservoir and includes a cathode electrode for producing hydrogen gas during the electrolysis. A hydrogen degassing region is integrated into the cathode chamber above the cathode electrode. The dividing wall extends up from the shared reservoir and separates the anode chamber from the cathode chamber. The dividing wall blocks transport of charged ions within the electrolytic solution across the dividing wall and blocks mixing of the hydrogen and oxygen gases released during the electrolysis.
Electrode for Electrolysis
The present disclosure relates to an electrode for electrolysis, in which a structure of a metal base layer is optimized, and a preparation method thereof, wherein the electrode for electrolysis of the present invention exhibits an overvoltage improved in comparison to a conventional electrode while having excellent durability due to a small loss of a coating layer.
ELECTROLYSIS ELECTRODE AND ELECTROLYZER
