SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING AMMONIA
The present disclosure provides methods for fabricating catalysts for ammonia decomposition. The method may comprise (a) subjecting a catalyst support to one or more physical or chemical processes to optimize one or more pores, morphologies, and/or surface chemistry or property of the catalyst support; (b) depositing a composite support material on the catalyst support, wherein the composite support material comprises a morphology or surface chemistry or property; and (c) depositing one or more active metals on at least one of the composite support material and the catalyst support, wherein the one or more active metals comprise one or more nanoparticles configured to conform to the morphology of the composite support material and/or catalyst support material, thereby optimizing one or more active sites on the nanoparticles for ammonia processing.
REFORMING DEVICE AND REFORMING SYSTEM
A reforming device is provided with: a reformer in which an ammonia gas is burnt by air to generate heat to reform the ammonia gas utilizing the generated heat; a supply pipe through which a gas comprising the ammonia gas and air to be fed to the reformer flows; a gas inlet which is arranged in the supply pipe and through which the ammonia gas and air are introduced into the inside of the supply pipe in such a manner that a tubular flow can be generated; an igniter which can ignite the ammonia gas introduced into the inside of the supply pipe through the gas inlet; and an ammonia gas inlet which is arranged in the supply pipe on a side closer to the reformer than the gas inlet and through which the ammonia gas is introduced into the inside of the supply pipe.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING AMMONIA
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for processing ammonia. The system may comprise one or more reactor modules configured to generate hydrogen from a source material comprising ammonia. The hydrogen generated by the one or more reactor modules may be used to provide additional heating of the reactor modules (e.g., via combustion of the hydrogen), or may be provided to one or more fuel cells for the generation of electrical energy.
Autothermal ammonia cracking process
Process for the production of a product gas containing nitrogen and hydrogen from ammonia comprising the steps of non-catalytic partial oxidation of ammonia with an oxygen containing gas to a process gas containing nitrogen, water, amounts of nitrogen oxides and residual amounts of ammonia; cracking of at least a part of the residual amounts of ammonia to hydrogen and nitrogen in the process gas by contact with a nickel containing catalyst and simultaneously reducing the amounts of nitrogen oxides to nitrogen and water by reaction with a part of the hydrogen formed during cracking of the process gas by contact of the process gas with the nickel containing catalyst; and withdrawing the hydrogen and nitrogen containing product gas.
CATALYST IN WHICH CATALYTIC METAL IS SUPPORTED ON HEXAGONAL SUPPORT, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a catalyst in which a catalytic metal is supported on a support including a single-crystalline hexagonal material, and a preparation method therefor, wherein the catalyst can be effectively used in ammonia dehydrogenation or ammonia synthesis.
MODULE FOR FUELING HYDROGEN CELL BY USING HYDROGEN PRODUCTION AND PURIFICATION DEVICE
A module for fueling a hydrogen cell is provided including a hydrogen production device, a hydrogen purification device and a hydrogen cell power generation system. The hydrogen production device comprises: a housing, a cavity being formed in the housing, and a first opening, a second opening and a third opening which all communicate with the cavity being formed in the housing; a plasma generating unit contained in the cavity and comprising a first electrode and a second electrode, the first electrode being close to the first opening, and the second electrode being close to the second opening; a voltage supply unit, a power supply end of the voltage supply unit being electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, and a potential difference exists between the first electrode and the second electrode to generate plasma; a feeding unit communicating with the first opening; and an exhaust unit.
REACTOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THERMALLY DECOMPOSING AMMONIA
This disclosure relates to reactor systems and methods of decomposing ammonia. In some aspects, a catalyst reactor includes an elongated conduit extending along a longitudinal axis. The elongated conduit can include a wall defining an interior cavity, an inlet configured for receiving a first fluid, and an outlet to flow the first fluid out of the elongated conduit, the wall having an interior cross-section defined by a major axis, W, and a minor axis, H, the major axis and the minor axis defining an aspect ratio, α=W/H, wherein the aspect ratio is greater than 2.0; and a catalytic structure disposed within the interior cavity of the elongated conduit.
Phase-changing borane containing fuel
Phase-changing fuel compositions which can generate hydrogen are provided herein. The compositions can comprise a hydrogen carrier at least partially dissolved in a polar organic solvent. The hydrogen carrier includes ammonia borane and an alkylamine borane such as methylamine borane or methylenediamine bisborane. The hydrogen carrier act as the primary fuel source in the compositions and can be present in an amount of at least 60% by weight, based on the weight of the hydrogen generation composition. The hydrogen generation compositions are a liquid at temperatures of 5° C. or greater or 25° C. or greater. Methods for the production of hydrogen from the hydrogen generation compositions are further disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MICROWAVE REMOVAL OF NH3 FROM ADSORBENT MATERIAL
Method and systems for desorbing NH.sub.3 from an NH.sub.3-adsorbent material by exposing the adsorbent material to microwave radiation are described. Also described are methods for increasing an NH.sub.3 cracker's NH.sub.3 utilization and reducing the chance of downstream process contamination. Also described are methods of producing high pressure, high purity H.sub.2 from NH.sub.3.
Catalyst compositions for ammonia decomposition
A method for ammonia decomposition to produce hydrogen, the method comprising the steps of introducing an ammonia stream to a reactor, wherein the ammonia stream comprises ammonia, wherein the reactor comprises a cobalt-based catalyst, the cobalt-based catalyst comprising 15 wt % and 70 wt % of cobalt, 5 wt % and 45 wt % of cerium, and 0.4 wt % and 0.5 wt % barium, wherein a remainder of weight of the cobalt-based catalyst is oxygen; contacting the ammonia in the ammonia stream with the cobalt-based catalyst, wherein the cobalt-based catalyst is operable to catalyze an ammonia decomposition reaction; catalyzing the ammonia decomposition reaction to cause the ammonia decomposition in the presence of the cobalt-based catalyst to produce hydrogen; and withdrawing a product stream from the reactor, the product stream comprising hydrogen.
