COMBINED COMBUSTION AND PYROLYSIS REACTORS FOR HYDROGEN PRODUCTION, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Combined combustion and pyrolysis (CCP) systems, and associated systems and methods, are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the CCP system includes an input valve fluidly coupleable to a fuel supply to receive a hydrocarbon reactant, a CCP reactor fluidly coupled to the input valve, and a carbon separation component fluidly coupled to the CCP reactor. The CCP reactor can include a combustion chamber, a reaction chamber in thermal communication with the combustion chamber and/or fluidly coupled to the input valve, and an insulating material positioned to reduce heat loss from the combustion chamber and/or the reaction chamber. The CCP reactor can also include a combustion component positioned to combust a fuel within the combustion chamber. The combustion can heat the reaction chamber and the hydrocarbon reactant flowing therethrough. The heat causes a pyrolysis of the hydrocarbon reactant that generates hydrogen gas and carbon.

FURNACE, FLUID FEED COMPONENT, FLUID REFORMING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF REFORMING A FLUID
There is disclosed a furnace (10), a fluid feed component, a fluid reforming system, and a method of reforming a fluid (20). The furnace (10) comprises a vessel (12) that defines a chamber (14) for holding a body of liquid (16). A fluid inlet (18) is provided for introducing a fluid (20) into the chamber (14) below a level (22) of the body of liquid (16) to cause the fluid (20) to interact with the liquid (16) and to migrate therethrough towards an outlet (24) for discharging a product (26) of the interaction from the chamber (14). A liquid circulation passage (28) is implemented, having a weir (30) which is operatively located near the level of the body of liquid (16), and a port (34) which is located remote from the weir (30) and in fluid (20) communication with the fluid inlet (18) so as to enable the liquid (16) to flow over the weir (30) through the liquid circulation passage (28) and through the port (34).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN AND CARBON
A method for producing hydrogen and carbon from hydrocarbons in a reaction chamber is provided. The method includes introducing a hydrocarbon into a chamber such that the hydrocarbon rotates in a first direction. The method includes generating a direct current (DC)-based plasma from a portion of the hydrocarbon, wherein the hydrocarbon is heated to a temperature greater than 1,000° C. at least in part by the DC-based plasma. The method includes rotating the DC-based plasma in a second direction that is different from the first direction. The method includes converting the hydrocarbon into elemental constituents of the hydrocarbon comprising carbon solid and hydrogen gas. The method includes separating the carbon solid from the hydrogen gas to provide a solid part and a gas part.
