At least a portion of the retractable nozzle is arranged to move between a retracted configuration within the housing and a deployed configuration outside the housing. The portion of the retractable nozzle in the retracted configuration is aligned in a direction along the longitudinal axis and the portion of the retractable nozzle in the deployed configuration is aligned in a direction across the longitudinal axis.

When rotating at high speed, the roller brush forms a seamless and closed separation face with the separation piece, preventing foreign matter from entering the transmission component, thus avoiding reduced suction and damage due to a tangled synchronous belt or a shaft jamming a roller brush bearing.

The nozzle is coupled to the second end and includes a first portion with a first set of teeth and a first channel with an opening opposite the first set of teeth. The nozzle also includes a second portion with a second set of teeth and a second channel with an opening opposite the second set of teeth. The first set of teeth interlock with the second set of teeth, and are configured to cause the first portion and the second portion to pivot together relative to the conduit between a closed position and an open position. The nozzle is movable along an outer surface of the conduit from the second end toward the first end.

CLEANER HEAD FOR A VACUUM CLEANER

A cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner including an agitator in the form of a brush bar, the brush bar including a plurality of radially extending bristles and a sealing material disposed between the bristles. The sealing material extends over substantially the entire circumferential and axial extent of the regions of the brush bar between the bristles. The cleaner head further includes a housing defining a chamber which at least partially surrounds the brush bar, a dirty air inlet in a lower part of the chamber and a front opening that exposes the brush bar at the front of the housing. The brush bar is supported for rotation with respect to the housing and arranged in the chamber such that the brush bar seals against the housing thereby restricting flow of air through the front opening.
