A cleaning device and a method therefor are provided. The cleaning device includes a vacuum cleaner including a dust collecting container and a docking station to which the dust collecting container is coupled. The docking station includes a suction device configured to move air from the dust collecting container to inside of the docking station, a collector configured to collect a foreign substance that is moved together with the air by driving of the suction device, a suction flow path along which air moves inside the docking station, a flow adjusting device configured to open or close the suction flow path, and at least one processor configured to control the suction device to operate based on the dust collecting container being coupled to the docking station, and control the flow adjusting device to periodically open and close the suction flow path in a state in which the suction device operates.

A removable dirt container is mountable on the housing and in fluid communication with a dirty air inlet and the motor fan assembly. Wherein the dirt container comprises a primary handle for actuating the moveable dirt compactor with a first hand and a first auxiliary handle for allowing the user to grip with a second hand.

A dust collecting device includes a bin, a dust bag assembly, a bin cover, a trigger structure, a detector and a controller. The trigger structure moves between an initial position in which the trigger structure does not trigger the detector and a trigger position in which the trigger structure triggers the detector. When the dust bag assembly is installed in the bin and the bin cover covers the bin, the dust bag assembly and the bin cover respectively pushes the trigger structure, such that the trigger structure moves from the initial position to the trigger position and triggers the detector. The controller is electrically connected with the detector. The controller restricts an operation of the dust collecting device according to an untriggered state of the detector, and releases the operation of the dust collecting device according to a triggered state of the detector.

The cleaning assembly includes a mounting part, a wiping part and a release part. The mounting part is positioned on the bottom part. The wiping part is positioned on the mounting part and includes a second positioning part, the wiping part is movable from first ends of the first rail and the second rail to second ends thereof until the second positioning part abuts against the first positioning part whereby the wiping part is fixed on the mounting part.
