Method of preparing activated mineral solution
Provided is a method of preparing an activated mineral solution, which includes steps of pulverizing granite and/or vermiculite into a powder by grinding, subjecting the powder to an electrolysis treatment, dissolving the powder in an aqueous ammonia solution and an acidic solution to prepare a mixed solution, emitting ultrasonic waves on the mixed solution, introducing microorganisms onto the mixed solution, and neutralizing the mixed solution, in which the mineral is selected from the group consisting of Fe, Mg, Al, Ti, K, Ca, Mn, Nb, P, Na, Zn, V, Cr, Ni, Si, B, Cu, Li, Ga, Co, Sr, In, Rb, Sb, Ta, Y, and combinations thereof.
FURNACE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A FURNACE
A furnace may include at least two vertical shafts, each of which may have at an upper end thereof an inlet for material to be burnt and at a lower end thereof a burnt material outlet. The inlet and the outlet may be connected by a transfer channel. In each case, at least one main burner may be positioned above the transfer channel, and a cooling gas inlet may be positioned below the transfer channel. At least one additional burner may be positioned below the transfer channel in each of the shafts. Such a furnace can be operated such that the material to be burnt in the currently fired shaft is at least partially calcined in a main burning zone above the transfer channel, and then thermally aftertreated in an additional burning zone positioned between the transfer channel and the additional burner.
FURNACE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A FURNACE

The present invention discloses the systems of producing calcium and magnesium carbonate from the Ca/Mg containing solution leached by a CO.sub.2-based hydrometallurgical process which includes: a precipitation reactor that the Ca/Mg containing leached solution is continuously added and fully mixed with the alkaline reagent at specific mole ratio into the precipitation reactor and the reactor also comprises a CO.sub.2 bubbling module where CO.sub.2 is captured and recirculated from the thermal decomposition process as needed; a solid-liquid separation unit that the treated slurry is treated by the solid-liquid separation unit to produce precipitated calcium and magnesium carbonate products where the recirculating water is recycled back into the precipitation reactor; a thermal decomposition unit that the calcium and magnesium carbonate products is calcined by the thermal decomposition unit to produce an alkaline reagent and the alkaline reagent is recycled back into the precipitation reactor for the next batch of reaction.

METHOD FOR THE GENERATION OF POWER
Disclosed herein is a method comprising heating a strontium-containing compound using radiation in a first reactor; decomposing the strontium-containing compound into an oxide and carbon dioxide as a result of heat generated by the exposure to the radiation; reacting the oxide and the carbon dioxide in a second reactor; where the oxide and carbon dioxide react to produce heat; heating a working fluid using the heat produced in the second reactor; and driving a turbine with the heated working fluid to generate energy. Disclosed herein too is a composition comprising strontium carbonate; and strontium zirconate; where the mass ratio of strontium carbonate to strontium zirconate 2:8 to 8:2.

Calcium oxide or magnesium oxide production with alkali and sulfur dioxide intermediates
The present application pertains to processes producing oxides using a weak acid intermediate. In one embodiment a material comprising calcium carbonate is reacted with a solution comprising aqueous carboxylic acid to form a gas comprising carbon dioxide and a solution comprising aqueous calcium carboxylate. The solution comprising aqueous calcium carboxylate is reacted with sodium sulfate to form a solution comprising aqueous sodium carboxylate and a solid comprising calcium sulfate. The solution comprising aqueous sodium carboxylate is reacted with sulfur dioxide to form sodium sulfite and an aqueous carboxylic acid. The sodium sulfite is separated from said aqueous carboxylic acid and reacted to form a solid comprising calcium sulfite which is decomposed to form calcium oxide and sulfur dioxide.
