Flow control riser within a stormwater treatment system

A horizontal flow water treatment method and wetland biofilter system with improved flow control via a tubular apparatus and further comprising a chamber with impermeable outer walls spaced away from permeable interior walls of a media filtration bed such that a catch basin is formed between the outer walls and the interior walls. The catch basin creates an open area around the perimeter of the interior walls for influent water to fill within the open area on all sides before penetrating the filtration media, providing a large surface area for influent water to interact with the media filtration bed. The influent water enters the catch basin in a horizontal flow path to provide for pre-settling of particulates before making contact with the filtration media. The biofilter design increases the available surface area of the media filtration bed by up to four times for a given volume of water, and thereby minimizes the loading or infiltration rate on the media filtration bed.

Surface water mitigation structure

A surface water mitigation structure suitable for use in the storage and treatment of contaminated surface water runoff. The runoff is processed through a multi-layered filtration and treatment system wherein the first layer is one or more permeable layers that is pervious enough to allow liquid runoff to pass through it and into a porous storage medium second layer that includes one or more remediating agents, and wherein the effluent from the surface water mitigation structure can be discharged to the ground, the surface, and/or a drainage system reduced or free of contaminants.

The invention concerns a wastewater treatment plant and a method for it. The plant comprising at least one main reactor module (30) having a plurality of stackable filter-modules (50), each filter-module purifying wastewater independently by being individually charged batchwise with wastewater. The wastewater is discharged on each filter-module by means of a deflector (44) referenced to a filter-module (50), the deflector creating a back pressure in dependency of the gravity-flow-force of the wastewater leading to that the wastewater is spilled from the deflector (44) in an angle of discharge relative to a horizontal plane evenly onto every independent filter-module, respectively.

A wastewater system is provided. The system includes channels and conduits for wastewater guidance and discharge. High aspect ratio channels and one or more distribution conduits are provided in the system such that wastewater, such as septic wastewater, is discharged from the system and into the system surroundings. The high aspect ratio channels are spaced apart from each other to allow for the discharge of the wastewater effluent from the system between the channels. The channels have a high height to width aspect ratio.

WATER TREATMENT WITH OIL

Carbon sources, such as food-grade oil, present in or above infiltration fields or other areas of water leaching systems, are employed, the water leaching systems having one or more layers. Carbon sources, such as food-grade oil, whether in aerobic or anaerobic conditions or saturated and unsaturated conditions may provide denotification of water interfacing with the oil or other carbon source.

Soil matrix water table control apparatus

A vegetated or non-vegetated buffer water retention system. The current invention can be utilized for both smaller scaled (e.g., residential or commercial) purposes or larger scaled (e.g., agricultural, municipal, industrial) purposes. In certain embodiments, the system generally includes a perforated drainage pipe and an elevated overflow controller apparatus (e.g., T-shaped member, arched overflow valve apparatus) in open communication with each other. These components allow the system to control the soil matrix water table. With additional valves, pumps, and water reservoirs, the system can control both the soil matrix water table and stored water reuse. The systems can be used not only to enhance plant root uptake and microbial utilization of nutrients and pollutants in water, but also to capture and reuse water inflows, thereby aiding in flooding abatement, water conservation and preventing soil erosion.
