In certain embodiments, a bioreactor is disclosed and may include an adsorbent layer with a biofilm capable of metabolizing 1,4-dioxane and a screen disposed downstream of the adsorbent layer configured to retain detached biofilm.
Adsorption method
A method of selectively and efficiently adsorbing an anion such as a phosphate ion which adversely affect the environment when discharged without any treatment, or an anion which can be used beneficially when recovered, from waste water or a solution including such ion using an adsorbent. A method of adsorbing an anion of interest from an aqueous solution (A) containing the anion of interest and the other anion using an anion adsorbent, including performing at least (1) a step of contacting the aqueous solution (A) having a pH of 5.8 or less with the anion adsorbent to allow the anions to be adsorbed to the anion adsorbent, and then (2) a step of contacting water or an aqueous solution (B) having a pH of 5.2 to 11 with the anion adsorbent to desorb at least a part of the other anion adsorbed to the anion adsorbent from the anion adsorbent.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR REMOVING POLLUTANT FROM POLUTED WATER
A composite material, wherein the composite material contains aluminum alloys with at least one of alkaline-earth metals and transition metals, and are used for removing pollutants by dissolving to release divalent metal ions, trivalent aluminum ions and hydroxide ions, which contact with other divalent and trivalent metal cations and anions in the contaminated water, to perform an in situ self-assemble of two-dimensional Layered Double Hydroxides (LDH) precipitates; consists of 18-70 weight% of aluminum metal, 30-80% weight of a second type of metal, and 0-2 weight% of an auxiliary agent; has a particle size of 0.01-3 mm; and preferably forms a micro-nano Alloy@LDH composite material with a core-shell structure by pretreating with dilute HCl. The present invention is used for soil remediation or sewage purification, and is suitable for chemical removal and degradation of complex contaminants from an acidic to alkaline environment.
Water treating agent and kit and methods for producing and using
An object of the invention is to provide a water treatment agent useful for reducing the MLSS and the like in a food factory effluent or the like and for reducing the total nitrogen of a water to be treated including nitrogen-containing compounds, a method for producing the water treatment agent, a method for treating water to be treated using the water treatment agent, and a kit for producing the water treatment agent. The water treatment agent of the invention is a water treatment agent that contains green rust and an enzymatic treatment agent containing a liver extract from a mammal (excluding a human being), a yeast lytic enzyme, lactate dehydrogenase, a glucose dehydrogenase, and water.
Treatment systems including cover systems and media
A treatment system is disclosed and includes a storage basin for retaining liquid, a cover system that covers the storage basin, and media disposed within liquid retained in the storage basin. In an embodiment, the media may be attached to the cover system. In an additional or alternative embodiment, the media may be detached from the cover system. In some embodiments of treatment systems having detached media, one or more stands may be provided for supporting the media. Configuring the treatment system to include both the cover system and the media may improve the operational efficiency of the storage basin, and may increase the volume or amount of liquid that may be treated by the treatment system.
COW EXCRETA TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD
Disclosed are a cow excreta treatment apparatus and method. According to an aspect of the present embodiment, in a cow excreta treatment apparatus which treats cow excreta wastewater, provided is an aerobic reaction chamber for improving the aggregation and sedimentation characteristics of fine solids, the aerobic reaction chamber comprising: an air blow pipe for supplying air; a vertical membrane for preventing the outflow of raw water; and a discharge pipe for discharging air and treated water and removing bubbles generated in the aerobic reaction chamber.
Decontamination of Environmental Water Sources Using Living Engineered Biofilm Materials
A living engineered biofilm material comprises microbial cells embedded in a protective extracellular matrix comprising a fusion protein of an amyloid domain and a contaminant binding domain operative to bind a contaminant of a water source, and thereby facilitate decontamination of the water source.
RISER BRACKET FOR SUPPORTING A COMPUTER CARD
A riser bracket for supporting a riser board and a computer card inserted into the riser board is disclosed. The riser bracket includes a first riser bracket piece, a first latch, a second riser bracket piece, and a second latch. The computer card and the riser board are positioned on a motherboard. The first riser bracket piece is configured to be coupled to the riser board. The first latch is configured to the first riser bracket piece to a first mounting point of the motherboard, and to move between a latched position and an unlatched position. The second riser bracket piece is coupled to the first riser bracket piece. The second latch is configured to couple the second riser bracket piece to a second mounting point of the motherboard, and move between a latched position and an unlatched position.
