Method For Removing Hydrogen Sulfide From Oily Sour Water
A method and apparatus for treating wastewater from hydrocarbon production, transport, and refining, comprising treating oily sour water with sodium chlorite to remove hydrogen sulfide and kill sulfate reducing and acid producing bacteria from the fluids harvested from oilfield operations, and facilitate the recovery of oil and water free of hydrogen sulfide and devoid of bacteria. The cationic sodium chlorite facilitates better separation of oil and water by coagulating the solids to create emulsion layers of oil, water, and precipitated sulfur solids. The oil is skimmed or decanted and subsequently refined, while the water is pH corrected and then disposed or recycled substantially free of hydrogen sulfide.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR WASTEWATER TREATMENT
A method, a system and an apparatus for wastewater treatment using a combination of separation of fat, oil and grease (FOG) and biological treatment for reducing the amount of fat, oil and grease (FOG) in wastewater with the aid of a liquid culture of microorganisms is provided. In particular, the technology disclosed relates to a method and process for the separation and treatment of FOG, as well as a container tank and an outlet pipe construction adapted for improving the gravimetric FOG separation process and the breaking down of FOG using microorganisms.
Process for the treatment of produced water from chemical enhanced oil recovery
The present invention relates to a process for the treatment of water from the production well of chemical enhanced oil recovery (CEOR) extraction. In particular, the process relates to the treatment of produced water with a combination of reagents to clarify the water, the reagents being selected from (i) a dithiocarbamate polymer which is water-soluble and has a molecular weight of 00 or more and (ii) a metal ion selected from the group comprising a cation of a transition metal, aluminium and lead, and an apparatus therefor. The use of such reagents in the clarification of produced water from polymer flood from chemical enhanced oil recovery is also disclosed.
Process for treating produced water from an oil and gas field
A process of treating a liquid containing oil and solids, includes an ultra- or micro-filtration step followed by a coalescing step of the concentrate obtained from the filtering step by uses of a coalescing contactor.
SUPER-HYDROPHILIC/UNDERWATER SUPER-OLEOPHOBIC SEPARATION MEMBRANE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The invention is related to a super-hydrophilic/underwater super-oleophobic attapulgite separation membrane, and a preparation method and use thereof. Monodispersed hydrophilic nanoparticulates are loaded on a surface of nanoparticles, to obtain a super-hydrophilic nanocomposite material with a micro-nanostructure. The nanocomposite material is dispersed in a mixed aqueous solution of polyacrylamide and methyl cellulose, to obtain a membrane-forming slurry after vigorous stirring. A disc-shaped porous support is infiltrated with water and placed on a horizontal surface, and then a certain volume of the membrane-forming slurry is slowly and uniformly drip-coated on a surface of the support, dried and sintered to obtain a super-hydrophilic/underwater super-oleophobic microfiltration membrane layer.
Method and System for Removing Hydrogen Sulfide From Sour Oil and Sour Water
Embodiments of the present invention are generally related to a system and method to remove hydrogen sulfide from sour water and sour oil. Particularly, hydrogen sulfide is removed from sour water and sour oil without the need for special chemicals, such as catalyst chemicals, scavenger chemicals, hydrocarbon sources, or a large-scale facility. The system and method in the present invention is particularly useful in exploratory oil and gas fields, where large facilities to remove hydrogen sulfide may be inaccessible. The present invention addresses the need for safe and cost-effective transport of the deadly neurotoxin. Particular embodiments involve a system and method that can be executed both on a small and large scale to sweeten sour water and sour oil.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ELECTRO-CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF CONTAMINATED WATER
A method and apparatus that can include an electrolytic cell and reactor chamber with an upstream ultrasonic cleaning system of the cell for the treatment contaminated water, which can include industrial wastewater containing high concentrations of inorganic compounds and elements. The contaminated water can optionally be effluent from open pit ponds and subterranean mining, produced water from oil and gas activities (upstream, midstream and downstream), ash ponds from the utilities industry, red mud ponds from aluminum production among many industries that produce industrial wastewater with heavy inorganic material concentration.
Methods and compositions for clarifying produced waters for boiler feed waters
Disclosed are methods and compositions for coagulating and clarifying produced waters for use as boiler feed waters, for example for the generation of steam. The methods and compositions are especially useful for treatment of produced waters from steam-injection methods of tertiary oil recovery such as steam-assisted gravitational drainage. Disclosed are compositions comprising a first copolymer having a high molecular weight and bearing a low molar cationic charge and a second copolymer having a lower molecular weight and bearing a high molar cationic charge. The compositions are suitable for addition as coagulants to produced waters that have been treated by warm lime softening. Also disclosed are methods of treating produced waters from steam-injection oil recovery for use as boiler feed waters to generate steam in such steam injection methods.
Sintered and porous articles having improved flexural strength
Polymer compositions containing polyethylene particles having a multi-modal molecular weight distribution are disclosed. The polymer compositions are well suited to producing porous substrates through a sintering process. Formulations made according to the present disclosure can produce porous substrates having improved flexibility demonstrated by an increased flexural strength while still retaining excellent pressure drop characteristics.
MAGNETIZATION AND MANIPULATION OF HYDROPHOBIC ABSORBENTS
The present invention includes a method of controlling an oil spill through introduction of a plurality of magnetizable particles into the oil spill in an amount sufficient to form a colloidal mixture. An absorbent is also introduced into the oil spill to form an absorbent mixture. A magnetic field can be applied to the system to move, manipulate, or otherwise control the absorbent mixture in response to movement of the magnetic field.
