UV-LED RADIATION PHOTO REACTOR
A reactor that operates with ultraviolet light emitting diodes (UV-LEDs) to attain UV photoreactions or UV photo-initiated reaction in a fluid flow for various applications, including water purification. The UV-LED reactor is comprised of a conduit means for passing fluid flow, an ultraviolet light emitting diode (UV-LED), and a radiation-focusing element to focus the UV-LED radiation to the fluid in the longitudinal direction of the conduit. The UV-LED reactor may include photocatalysts or chemical oxidants, which are activated by UV emitted by UV-LEDs for photocatalytic and photo-initiated reactions.
UV LED PHOTOCATALYSIS WATER PURIFYING DEVICE
The present invention provides a water purifying device that may include: an upper cover that is configured to have an inlet for liquid; two or more light source modules that are configured to include a light source that emits a UV ray; two or more light guide plates that are configured to guide, to the front, the UV ray that is incident through the lateral side thereof from the light source module to then be output; a purifying plate that is configured to provide a flow path through which liquid flows, and that is configured to provide a plate-type photocatalyst that is disposed on the flow path so that the UV ray emitted from the light guide plate reaches the plate-type photocatalyst in order to thereby purify the liquid; and a lower cover that is configured to have an outlet for the liquid.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING LIQUID WATER FROM AIR
This disclosure includes systems and methods for extracting water vapor from atmospheric air and, more particularly, but not by way of limitation, systems and methods for optimizing liquid water production from air, in some instances, taking into account diurnal variations. The systems comprise an adsorption zone an a desorption zone, an actuator to move a desiccant between the adsorption zone and the desorption zone. The liquid water production is optimized based, at least in part, on measurements of one or more of: an ambient air temperature, ambient air relative humidity, and a level of solar insolation.
TUBULAR FLUID PURIFICATION APPARATUS
A tubular fluid purification apparatus includes a guide part provided with an inlet port into which fluid is drawn, a discharge part provided with an outlet port from which the fluid is discharged, a conduit part configured to provide a space for flow of the fluid between the guide part and the discharge part, and a purification of unit supported on an inner surface of the conduit part and disposed to face the fluid flowing from the guide part to the discharge part. The purification unit includes a vortex generation part including a support and an opening formed in the support, and a light emitting diode disposed on the support at a position adjacent to the opening and configured to provide ultraviolet light.
WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A UV reactor for disinfecting water. The UV reactor may include a cooling chamber in which heat from a UV source may be transferred to the water flowing through the UV reactor. The UV reactor may include driver circuitry operable to determine status information, such as health, of the UV source. The UV reactor may include a gas discharge path operable to substantially prevent accumulation of gas within a water treatment chamber.
Ultraviolet disinfection system
Embodiments of the invention include an elongate chamber. A UV source includes a semiconductor device, the semiconductor device including an active layer disposed between an n-type region and a p-type region. The active layer emits radiation having a peak wavelength in a UV range. The semiconductor device is positioned on a wall of the elongate chamber. An inner surface of the elongate chamber is reflective.
Mobile UV sterilization device and method
A mobile sterilization assembly, a mobile sterilization device, and method for sterilization using a mobile sterilization device are described for providing a low-cost and compact sterilization system using an ultraviolet light-emitting diode for sterilization. In an implementation, a mobile sterilization assembly includes a sterilization assembly couplable to a mobile device with a controller, the sterilization assembly including at least one light dispersive element; and an optical coupler configured to couple the at least one light dispersive element to a mobile device; where the at least one light dispersive element at least one of transmits and disperses light from at least one light-emitting diode or transmits light to a photodiode, where the at least one light-emitting diode or the photodiode are configured to be communicatively coupled to the controller.
Photoelectrocatalytic device for water disinfection
A water-disinfecting apparatus includes a vessel with a cathode, an insert with a photoanode, an ultraviolet light source configured to be positioned in the insert, and a power source. The cathode forms an electrically conductive layer on an inner surface of the vessel. The photoanode is configured to be positioned in the cathode. The power source is configured to be operably coupled to the cathode, the photoanode, and the light source.
LIGHTING DEVICE FOR PROVIDING LIGHT TO BE USED IN A PHOTOCHEMICAL REACTION
The invention relates to a lighting device, to the use of the lighting device in a photochemical reaction, to a photochemical reactor and to a method used by the lighting device. The lighting device 100 comprises an LED unit 110 configured to emit light 114 to be used in the photochemical reaction, a housing 120 configured to house the LED unit, wherein at least a part of the housing is transparent for light to be used in the photochemical reaction, wherein the housing is configured to contain a dielectric liquid transparent for light generated by the LED unit such that it is in direct contact with at least a part of the light emitting side of the LED unit, and a liquid movement arrangement 130 configured to support a movement of the dielectric liquid such that the dielectric liquid transports heat produced by the LED unit away from the LED unit.

Provided is an air treatment apparatus comprising an air flow generator arranged to generate an air flow, a moisture source arranged to introduce water vapour into the air flow, a body that in use surrounds both air flow generator and the moisture source, and a water supply system arranged to provide water to the moisture source. The water supply system comprises a water tank assembly separable from the body, the water tank assembly comprising a water tank, a water supply pipe arranged to convey water from water tank, and an ultraviolet light source arranged to irradiate the water passing through the water supply pipe. The water tank comprises a tank opening and the water tank assembly further comprises a removable tank cap that is arranged to fit over the tank opening, with the ultraviolet light source and the water supply pipe being provided on the removable tank cap.
