A floor cleaner includes an electrically powered component and a switch. The switch includes a button including an actuator surface. A fluid channel is formed by a fluid collection surface disposed below the button and an outer channel wall extending upwardly from the fluid collection surface, the fluid channel having a fluid outlet. A projection of the button is received in an inner button aperture formed by an inner wall extending from the fluid collection surface forming a bushing around the projection. The inner wall inhibits flow of fluid from the fluid channel through the inner button aperture. The outer channel wall surrounds the aperture wall such that fluid entering the body between the perimeter of the button actuator surface and the aperture wall is collected by the fluid channel and directed to the fluid outlet.

Walk-behind floor treatment machine comprising: a base portion provided with and supported by at least one rotatable work head for treating the floor, a handle portion for steering or guiding the machine along a working direction of travel and adapted to be pivotable with respect to the base portion, drive means for rotating the work head with respect to the base portion, floor-engaging wheel means for supporting the handle portion, the wheel means having a substantially transverse axis of rotation so as to permit travel in the working direction, the wheel means being coupled to the base portion by a linkage which permits vertical travel of the base portion and associated work head or heads with respect to the wheel means, but which provides transverse constraint to limit or prevent yawing of the base portion with respect to the wheel means, wherein a lower region of the handle portion is pivotably connected to the wheel means so that the handle portion may pivot through a generally vertical arc, and wherein a handle pivot lock mechanism is provided in which the adoption of a predetermined handle portion orientation permits one or more locking feature to act on one or more corresponding constraint feature so as to prevent pivoting movement of the handle portion with respect to the linkage, whereby tilting back of the locked handle portion causes a corresponding rise of the linkage and base portion with work head so as to lift them from the floor surface, wherein a squeegee suction device is provided for collecting and entraining liquid lifted from a floor surface over which the machine travels, the squeegee suction device being attached to the wheel means via one or more trailing arm which is attached at one end region to the squeegee device and at the opposite end region is pivotably attached to the wheel means for pivoting co-axially about the said transverse axis of rotation, the arrangement being such that the trailing arm and squeegee may pivot up or down about the transverse axis as they trail behind the treatment machine.

The invention relates to a cleaning system, comprising a cleaning cart and an external accessory device, wherein the cleaning cart comprises a frame having rollers for moving on a ground surface, at least one receptacle for receiving and/or carrying cleaning utensils, and an interaction device having a hand-actuatable interaction element, wherein the accessory device is portably configured and a user application program for processing cleaning-related information is executably stored on the accessory device and/or operable via the accessory device, wherein the interaction device and the accessory device are coupleable with one another via a communication connection, and wherein, depending on an actuation of the interaction element by the user, input information for operation of the user application program is transmittable from the interaction device to the accessory device and is processable by the accessory device. The invention further relates to a method for operating a cleaning system.

A portable cleaner has a recovery tank, including a container for receiving and storing recovered liquid and/or dirt and an openable tank lid for covering the container. The container and the tank lid are removable from the cleaner as a unit. The portable cleaner also has a main housing configured to removably support the recovery tank in a vertical orientation in which the tank lid at least partially defines a top side of the portable cleaner. In addition, a tank latch is provided in the tank lid, the tank latch configured to selectively secure and release the tank lid to the main housing when the recovery tank is supported by the main housing.

A long rod cleaning machine can prevent swinging due to partial contact and also perform local cleaning. A scrubber includes an electric motor, a tip tool including a cleaning portion, a head to which the tip tool is attachable, a rod, and a rotator between the head and the rod. The tip tool is attached in a manner movable with a driving force from the electric motor. The head includes a peripheral portion surrounding the cleaning portion and including a surface-cleaning lateral portion to be in contact with a cleaning target surface together with the cleaning portion. The rotator includes a rotation restrictor connecting the head to the rod in a manner rotatable relative to the rod about at least two axes. The rotation restrictor partially or fully restricts rotation of the head.

A floor cleaning machine including a handle that pivots relative to a base about a pivot axis. A recovery tank is coupled to the handle in fluid communication with a suction motor assembly to receive and store fluid and dirt drawn through a suction nozzle. The floor cleaning machine further includes an expandable hose fluidly communicating the recovery tank and the suction nozzle. The hose is in an expanded configuration when the handle is pivoted about the pivot axis to a reclined position. The hose is in a retracted configuration when the handle is pivoted about the pivot axis to a substantially upright position. The hose at least partially wraps around the pivot axis with the pivot axis being between a portion of the hose wrapped around the pivot axis and the surface being cleaned in the expanded and the retracted configurations.

The handle is pivotally coupled to the base, the handle pivotable between an upright storage position and an inclined operating position, the base movable over a surface to be cleaned. The base includes a suction inlet in fluid communication with the vacuum source, a brushroll chamber including a rear wall, a brushroll in the brushroll chamber, the brushroll rotatable about a brushroll axis, and a brushroll cover releaseably attached to the base, the brushroll cover removable to access the brushroll chamber and the brushroll, and the brushroll chamber rear wall is attached to and removable with the brushroll cover.

A wet surface cleaner operable in an upright cleaning mode, an auxiliary cleaning mode, and a lift-off cleaning mode. The surface cleaner has a canister assembly that is coupled to a body in the upright cleaning mode and removed from the body in the auxiliary cleaning mode and the lift-off cleaning mode.

A cleaning machine may include: a first brush comprising a first brush shaft extending in a left-right direction and a first brush body held by the first brush shaft; a second brush comprising a second brush shaft extending in the left-right direction and a second brush body held on the second brush shaft; a brush supporting member supporting each of the first brush and the second brush such that the first brush and the second brush are rotatable; a body supporting the brush supporting member such that the brush supporting member is pivotable; and a pivot mechanism configured to pivot the brush supporting member with respect to the body.
