Temperature measurement system for blank molds in glassware forming machines

A glassware forming machine includes a blank mold having first and second sections and a hanger assembly configured to support the first section and permit movement of the first section towards and away from the second section. A temperature measurement system for the first section includes a thermocouple configured to be received within a recess in a wall of the first section and to generate a temperature signal indicative of a temperature of the first section. The system further includes a transmitter assembly coupled to the thermocouple and comprising a housing supported on the hanger assembly and a wireless transmitter and controller disposed within the housing. The controller is configured to receive the temperature signal and generate an output signal in response for transmission by the wireless transmitter, the output signal including data indicative of the temperature of the first section of the blank mold.

Glass container with embossed indicia

A glassforming blank mold having an internal surface and an engraving in the internal surface, wherein the engraving, in cross section, includes a radially outward surface having a circumferential width, and sidewalls connecting the radially outward surface to the internal surface of the blank mold, and including fillets between the radially outward surface and the sidewalk, and rounds between the sidewalls and the internal surface of the blank mold, such that the sidewalls are not straight but, instead, are continuously curving. A method of making a glass container using the mold is also disclosed, as is the glass container itself.

Method for producing glass bottles by automatic forming and apparatus to carry out the method

A process for producing glass bottles with shoulders includes a preform preparation step and a finishing step, in which a compressed gas is blown and the preform is rotated by 180 between the preform mold and the finishing mould. Preform preparation is achieved by introducing a glass gob into the mold through an upper aperture; inserting a blowing sleeve into the glass gob, the end of the sleeve extending beyond the shoulders of the outline of the preform of the bottle, the sleeve being closed by a plunger element slidable within its interior; opening the cavity of the sleeve to disengage the plunger element; and blowing air through the sleeve, wherein the final finishing step is achieved in an open preform mold, the volume of the cavity of the finishing mold being greater than the volume of the cavity of the preform mold by 5-20%.
