A glass sheet forming station for forming a glass sheet may include an upper mold, a lower outer mold arrangement and a lower inner mold arrangement disposed inwardly of the lower outer mold arrangement and movable relative to the lower outer mold arrangement. The lower outer mold arrangement may include first and second outer longitudinal support portions and first and second outer lateral support portions that are each configured to contact the glass sheet. The lower inner mold arrangement may include first and second inner longitudinal support portions and first and second inner lateral support portions that are each configured to contact the glass sheet. Furthermore, the lower outer mold arrangement and the lower inner mold arrangement may each be operable to press the glass sheet against the upper mold.

METHOD OF SHAPING A GLASS SHEET AND GLASS SHAPING LINE UTILIZED THEREIN

A method of shaping a glass sheet includes providing a glass sheet. Also, a bending station is provided. The bending station includes a first bending tool. The first bending tool has a shaping surface for receiving the glass sheet. The glass sheet is conveyed on a plurality of rollers to a location above the first bending tool. At least a portion of the glass sheet is supported above the first bending tool by delivering a flow of fluid to a major surface of the glass sheet. The glass sheet is deposited on the shaping surface of the first bending tool.

Method of molding window for display

A method of molding a window for a display device includes: forming curved side surfaces and curved corners of the window, by pressing a heated preliminary window glass to a mold. The mold includes: a flat portion corresponding to a flat display portion of the display device; a window side surface bending portion corresponding to the side surfaces of the display device; and a window corner bending portion corresponding to the corners of the display device. The forming the curved side surfaces of the window includes pressing the heated preliminary window glass against the window side surface bending portion of the mold; and after the forming of the curved side surfaces, forming the curved corners and a flat portion of the window by further pressing the heated preliminary window glass respectively against the window corner bending portion and the flat portion of the mold.

Articulated mold arrangement for a glass processing system

An articulated lower mold arrangement for use with an upper mold includes a mold portion configured to bend a heated glass sheet. The mold portion has a first end, a sharp bend area proximate the first end for bending an end portion of the glass sheet, and a second end opposite the first end and spaced away from the sharp bend area. The arrangement may further include a first guide member connected to the mold portion at a first location proximate the first end, and a second guide member connected to the mold portion at a second location proximate the second end and spaced away from the sharp bend area. The mold portion and the guide members are cooperable to allow the first end of the mold portion to move from a lowered position to a raised position in order to move the end portion of the glass sheet upwardly.

In some embodiments, a process comprises fixing a first portion of a flexible glass substrate into a first fixed shape with a first rigid support structure and attaching a first display to the first portion of the flexible glass substrate or to the first rigid support structure. After fixing the first portion and attaching the first display, and while maintaining the first fixed shape of the first portion of the flexible glass substrate and the attached first display, cold-forming a second portion of the flexible glass substrate to a second fixed shape and fixing the second portion of the flexible glass substrate into the second fixed shape with a second rigid support structure.
