GLASS FILM PRODUCTION METHOD
A method of manufacturing a glass includes a conveying step of moving a conveyance sheet material that contacts a lower surface of a glass film, to thereby convey the glass film. The conveyance sheet material includes a first contact portion that contacts the lower surface of the glass film on an upstream side in a manufacture-related process step, a second contact portion that contacts the lower surface of the glass film on a downstream side in the manufacture-related process step, and a non-contact portion that is prevented from contacting the lower surface of the glass film. In this method, the manufacture-related process step includes subjecting the glass film to a predetermined process at a position corresponding to the non-contact portion between the first and second contact portions while simultaneously moving the first, second , and non-contact portions of the conveyance sheet material through the conveying step.
Method and device for continuous separation of glass
A method for separating a thin glass, in which method the thin glass is progressively heated along a path which forms a parting line, wherein the heating of the glass is realized by way of the energy of at least one energy source within an area of action of the energy source on the thin glass, and, by way of a temperature gradient of the glass heated by way of the at least one energy source in relation to the surrounding glass, a mechanical stress is generated in the glass, by way of which mechanical stress, a crack propagates, following the mechanical stress, along the parting line.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR FABRICATING RESPECTIVE SECTIONS FROM A GLASS WEB
Methods and apparatus provide for: conveying a glass web from a source toward a destination in a transport direction; scoring the glass web in a width direction thereof to product a score line having a plurality of separated score segments, thereby defining a section of the glass web between the score line and leading edge of the glass web; supporting the glass web such that an increasing portion of the section of the glass web becomes cantilevered as the glass web is conveyed such that the portion of the section of the glass web is sufficiently large to generate stress in the respective score segments and drive respective cracks through the thickness of the glass web; and permitting the section of the glass web to separate from the glass web along the score line.
Continuous processing of flexible glass ribbon
A method of continuously processing glass ribbon having a thickness 0.3 mm. The method includes providing a glass processing apparatus having a first processing zone, a second processing zone and a third processing zone. The glass ribbon is continuously fed from the first processing zone, through the second processing zone to the third processing zone. The feed rate of the glass ribbon is controlled through each processing zone using a global control device. A first buffer zone is provided between the first processing zone and the second processing zone in which the glass substrate is supported in a first catenary between two, spaced-apart, payoff positions. A second buffer zone is provided between the second processing zone and the third processing zone in which the glass substrate is supported in a second catenary between two, spaced-apart, payoff positions.
Method for cutting glass using a laser, and glass produced according to the method
A method for cutting thin glass, wherein the thin glass is heated with a laser beam along a path forming a cutting line moving along a forward feed direction, such that a crack propagates along the cutting line and cuts through the thin glass. The laser beam is formed by a beam-forming optic in such a way that the beam profile thereof has an elongated shape. The laser beam is orientated on the surface of the thin glass such that the longitudinal direction thereof is aligned in the feed direction. The elongated shape of the beam profile is asymmetric, such that the intensity course differs at the ends of the beam profile in such a way that the increase in intensity at the front end crossing the thin glass first is steeper than the drop in intensity at the opposite rear end.
Process for manufacturing glass sheets of complex shape
The process relates to the manufacture of a plurality of glazings of complex shape from a rectangular sheet of float glass of large dimensions. The process includes at a first station for cutting the glass sheet, scoring at least one cutting line corresponding to at least one ready-to-shape edge of the glazings; a first breaking operation; at a second cutting station, scoring at least one cutting line corresponding to at least one other ready-to-shape edge of the glazings, and a second breaking operation.
CONTINUOUS PROCESSING OF FLEXIBLE GLASS RIBBON
A method of continuously processing glass ribbon having a thickness0.3 mm.
