Each spindle connector receiving feature includes a cavity that is sized to movably receive a spindle connector of a glass body support assembly that is configured to support a glass container body.

GLASS ARTICLES HAVING DAMAGE-RESISTANT COATINGS AND METHODS FOR COATING GLASS ARTICLES

A coated glass article and methods for producing the same are provided herein. The coated glass article includes a glass body having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the first surface is an exterior surface of the glass body, and a damage-resistant coating formed by atomic layer deposition, the damage-resistant coating being disposed on at least a portion of the first surface of the glass body.

HOLLOW GLASS PACKAGING OBJECT OR CONTAINER HAVING AN EXTERNAL ANTI-MIST COATING
20170233285 · 2017-08-17 · ·

The present invention relates to a hollow glass, such as a bottle, glass, flask or pot, consisting of a glass substrate having, on at least one portion of its outer wall, a hydrophilic organic coating, for instance based on polyvinyl alcohol crosslinked with at least one acid selected from citric acid, polyacrylic acid and poly(acrylic acid-co-maleic acid).

In order to manufacture this hollow glass, a solution containing the ingredients for forming the coating and at least one solvent is applied to the glass substrate by spraying, dip-coating or, when the hydrophilic organic coating is a partial coating, by spraying onto the outer wall of the glass substrate on which a mask has been applied, or by screenprinting; the glass substrate coated with said solution is dried; and the substrate is cured thermally or by UV radiation or by electron beam. It is possible to use this hollow glass for revealing a pattern thereon when said hollow glass is removed from a cold storage zone.

Three-dimensional printing of a porous matrix on a container

This disclosure describes container(s) having an ultraviolet (UV)-cured matrix and methods to create the same. For example, a glass container according to this disclosure has a bottom and a body extending in a direction away from the bottom along a longitudinal axis. The body has a surface having an UV-cured matrix including UV-curable varnish drops arranged in a plurality of layers and having voids existing therebetween to form a porous matrix structure. One method to form the glass container is to apply a layer of UV-curable varnish to an outer surface of the glass container as a plurality of varnish drops, so as to establish a plurality of voids between the varnish drops, cure the layer of UV-curable varnish, apply one or more additional layers of UV-curable varnish, and cure the additional layer(s) of UV-curable varnish, wherein all of the varnish drops and the voids form the UV-cured matrix.

Emulsion compositions and methods for strengthening glass

The present invention provides, in various embodiments, compositions and methods for strengthening glass without heat or chemical processing of the glass itself. The compositions of the present invention are emulsions comprising polymer colloid particles that are functionalized with an organosilicon compound. The polymer colloid particles can fill surface defects in the glass due to their size being smaller than the surface defects, and the functional groups thereon can react with the surface of the glass to anchor the particles in the defects.

Halogenated polyimide siloxane chemical compositions and glass articles with halogenated polyimide siloxane low-friction coatings

As described herein, a polyimide chemical composition may be used for coating glass articles. According to embodiments, a coated glass article may include a glass container which may include a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, and a low-friction coating bonded to at least a portion of the first surface of the glass container. The low-friction coating may include a polyimide chemical composition. The polyimide chemical composition may be halogenated and the polyimide chemical composition may include a siloxane moiety.

METHODS FOR COATING GLASS ARTICLES

A method for coating a glass article includes obtaining a glass article; selecting a coating including a fluorinated polyimide, and coating the glass article with the selected coating including the fluorinated polyimide. The fluorinated polyimide having a cohesive energy density less than or equal to 300 KJ/mol, and a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) less than or equal to 625 K.
