The primary surfaces of the backplane are characterized by a prior material removal to the final thickness from an initial thickness that is at least 20 m greater than the final thickness. The assembly also includes a protect layer on the first primary surface of the backplane; and a plurality of electronic components on the second primary surface of the backplane. In addition, the backplane is configured with at least one static bend having a bend radius between about 25 mm and about 5 mm. The electronic components of the electronic device assembly can include at least one thin film transistor (TFT) element or organic light emitting diode (OLED) element.
HIGH-STRENGTH SURFACE TREATMENT FOR GLASS AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A surface treatment applied to a glass which reduces breakability of the glass includes a substrate and a toughened layer formed thereon. The toughened layer of the disclosure is formed on at least one surface of the substrate. The toughened layer is an optical-grade nano resin film which has no significant effect on the transparency or color of the substrate. The disclosure further provides a method for applying the toughened layer on the glass.

There is provided a heat insulating window film disposed on the inside of a window, including at least: a support; and a fibrous conductive particles-containing layer disposed on the support, in which the fibrous conductive particles-containing layer is disposed on a surface of the support on a side opposite to the surface of the window side, and the heat insulating window film contains a near infrared shielding material. The heat insulating window film; a heat insulating window glass; an building material; a window; a building; and a vehicle which are manufactured at low cost, easily manufactured to have a large area, and have excellent visible light transmittance, shielding properties for near infrared light, heat insulating properties, and light resistance are provided.
Polycarbonate Diol Coating Composition For Caustic And UV Resistance
A curable glass coating composition including 5-70 wt % aliphatic polycarbonate diol, 5-60 wt % crosslinker, 1-20 wt % extender, 4-20 wt % fatty alcohol, and 2-30 wt % crystalline or amorphous powder filler material, and optionally 2-20 wt % aliphatic polyester polyol and 2-20 wt % cycloaliphatic epoxy. The coating composition can be applied to a glass substrate and cured to form a decorative cured polyurethane coating layer on the substrate that has improved caustic and UV resistance.
Methods and systems relating to enhancing material toughness
Highly mineralized natural materials often boast unusual combinations of stiffness, strength and toughness currently unmatched by today's engineering materials. Beneficially, according to the embodiments of the invention, these unusual combinations can be introduced into ceramics, glasses, and crystal materials, for example by the introduction of patterns of weaker interfaces with simple or intricate architectures, which channel propagating cracks into toughening configurations. Further, such deliberately-introduced weaker interfaces, such as exploiting three-dimensional arrays of laser-generated microcracks, can deflect and guide larger incoming cracks. Addition of interlocking interfaces and flexible materials provide further energy dissipation and toughening mechanism, by channeling cracks into interlocking configurations and ligament-like pullout mechanisms. Such biomimetic materials, based on carefully architectured interfaces, provide a new pathway to toughening hard and brittle materials.
Glass roll, product having a glass roll, device and method for the manufacture thereof
A glass roll, as well as a device and a method for manufacturing the glass roll are provided. The glass roll includes a glass ribbon having a thickness, a length in an x-direction, and a width in a y-direction. The glass ribbon has at least one defect site at a position, as well as at least one error mark disposed on the glass ribbon, and is wound up into a glass roll.
INTERPENETRATING POLYMER NETWORKS
The invention relates to a film comprising an interpenetrating network, its uses and processes for making the same. The film produced displays good durability, chemical resistance and transparency. The film is produced from an interpenetrating network formed as a colloidal suspension in an organic solvent and a particulate solid.
Hollow glass packaging object or container having an external anti-mist coating
The present invention relates to a hollow glass, such as a bottle, glass, flask or pot, consisting of a glass substrate having, on at least one portion of its outer wall, a hydrophilic organic coating, for instance based on polyvinyl alcohol crosslinked with at least one acid selected from citric acid, polyacrylic acid and poly(acrylic acid-co-maleic acid). In order to manufacture this hollow glass, a solution containing the ingredients for forming the coating and at least one solvent is applied to the glass substrate by spraying, dip-coating or, when the hydrophilic organic coating is a partial coating, by spraying onto the outer wall of the glass substrate on which a mask has been applied, or by screenprinting; the glass substrate coated with said solution is dried; and the substrate is cured thermally or by UV radiation or by electron beam. It is possible to use this hollow glass for revealing a pattern thereon when said hollow glass is removed from a cold storage zone.
