Microscope slide, method for manufacturing microscope slide, observation method, and analysis method
12032148 · 2024-07-09 · ·

It is not preferable to use a material other than materials that are used in the related art in order to prevent a section from peeling from a microscope slide. This is because, even if adhesiveness is improved, it is necessary to eliminate influence on processes such as dyeing. An object of the invention is to provide a technique for preventing a section from peeling off without applying an additional material. In the invention, the above-described problem is solved by etching at least a part of a region of a surface of a substrate with reactive ions.

Flexible Elastomer And Fiberglass Layered Building Element
20190063067 · 2019-02-28 ·

A layered building element for protecting exterior or interior building surfaces is disclosed. Exterior or interior surfaces may include both vertical and horizontal surfaces, such as walls, roofs, or floors. The layered building element includes a flexible sheet comprising at least one elastomer layer in communication with an elastomer-impregnated fiberglass layer. Each elastomer layer may be bound in communication to the fiberglass layer at an interface comprising elastomer-impregnated fiberglass. The flexible sheet may form, for example, shingles, tiles, or a cylindrical roll, which may support portability and installation of the layered building element.

USE OF FATTY ACID-MODIFIED RESINS TO CONFER ANTI-FINGERPRINT PROPERTY TO A GLASS SHEET
20190055159 · 2019-02-21 · ·

The invention relates to the use of a coating comprising at least one fatty-acid modified resin as an anti-fingerprint coating on a least one face of a glass sheet. In particular, the invention allows to provide an anti-fingerprint solution to be used for a glass sheet, which does not significantly affect the surface properties and the aesthetics of the coated glass compared to the naked glass. Moreover, the invention allows to provide an anti-fingerprint solution to be used for a glass sheet, which is sustainable in time and/or wearing of the surface.

COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH ENHANCED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND A METHOD TO FABRICATE THE SAME

According to the present disclosure, a hydrophobic polymeric composite comprising a hydrophobic polymer matrix with hydrophobically modified particles dispersed therein is provided. The hydrophobically modified particles may be derived from hydrophilic particles modified with organic moieties. The hydrophobically modified particles may also take in the form of core-shell fibers with hydrophilic particles encapsulated inside the core of said fibers or in the form of monolithic fibers embedded with hydrophilic particles. The method for making hydrophobic polymeric composite comprising each of the various hydrophobically modified particles is also provided. The hydrophobic polymer matrix can be chosen from poly(alpha-hydroxyesters), of carbonates, polyurethanes or polyalkanoates. For example, hydrophilic particles, such as barium sulphate, zirconium oxide, tantalum oxide or bismuth oxide, are dispersed in the hydrophobic biodegradable polymers, such as poly-(L-lactide) (PLLA).
