The surface-treated glass cloth includes a surface treatment layer on a surface, and the surface treatment layer includes: a first silane coupling agent containing at least one amine selected from the group consisting of a primary amine, a secondary amine and a tertiary amine and containing no quaternary ammonium cation; a second silane coupling agent containing at least one quaternary ammonium cation; an organic acid; and a surfactant. A total content of the first silane coupling agent and the second silane coupling agent is 0.05 to 1.20 mass% based on the total amount of the surface-treated glass cloth, a ratio of a molar content of the first silane coupling agent to a molar content of the second silane coupling agent is 1.1 to 10.0, and a content of the organic acid is 50 to 300 ppm based on the total amount of the surface-treated glass cloth.

The present invention concerns a two-part sizing composition comprising: (A) A precursor comprising: (a) An aminosilane (e.g. A1100) and (b) a polymer or copolymer containing carboxylic acid and/or anhydride, both having a functionality, F≧3, and (B) A binder comprising a multi-functional epoxy resin of functionality, F≧3. Glass fibres sized with the reaction product of the above composition yield a higher resistance to hydrolysis of polymeric matrix composite materials reinforced with such fibres. The sizing composition of the present invention is particularly advantageous for use with polyester resins, such as PET.

The present invention concerns a two-part sizing composition comprising: (A) A precursor comprising: (a) An aminosilane (e.g. A1100) and (b) a polymer or copolymer containing carboxylic acid and/or anhydride, both having a functionality, F≧3, and (B) A binder comprising a multi-functional epoxy resin of functionality, F≧3. Provided is a glass direct roving that can achieve good productivity for long glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin pellets, and achieve excellent spinning productivity and good strength of glass fiber-reinforced resin molded articles produced by using long glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin pellets in combination. The glass direct roving includes a plurality of glass filaments bundled together, wherein the filament diameter of the glass filaments, D, is in the range of 17.5 to 21.5 μm, the number of the glass filaments bundled, F, is in the range of 3000 to 7000, the mass of the glass direct roving is in the range of 2450 to 4000 tex, the ignition loss of the glass direct roving, L, is in the range of 0.03 to 0.90%, and the D, F, and L satisfy the following formula (1):

GLASS FIBER SIZING AGENT FOR DAYLIGHTING PANEL AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to a glass fiber sizing agent for a daylighting panel. The sizing agent includes effective components and water. The sizing agent has a solid content of 2-8%. Percentage of solid mass of each of the effective components in a solid mass of the sizing agent is as follows: a silane coupling agent: 3-15%; a film-forming agent: 68-93%; a lubricant: 0.5-10%; an antistatic agent: 1-12%; and a pH regulator: 0-5%. The present disclosure further relates to a preparation method of the glass fiber sizing agent for a daylighting panel and use of the sizing agent in fields of glass fibers and composite materials. Compared with the prior art, glass fiber products produced from the sizing agent of the present disclosure have a suitable stiffness and wet-out speed, and the sizing agent has an excellent refractive index, which is similar to that of matrix resin. Glass fibers coated with the sizing agent can improve light transmittance of daylighting panels and strength and service life of composite materials.
POLYVINYL ALCOHOL-SIZED FILLERS FOR REINFORCING PLASTICS
A sized reinforcing filler, comprising a filler and a sizing agent disposed on at least a portion of the filler, to be used for reinforcement for plastics is disclosed. The sizing agent is based upon at least one of a polyvinyl alcohol, an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, a silane-grafted polyvinyl alcohol and a silane-grafted ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, a silane-grafted polyvinyl alcohol and a silane-grafted ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer. The polyvinyl alcohol is useful as a size for all types of fibers and particles to reinforce all types of commodity and engineering plastics, particularly polyolefin resins, to form polymer composites. As such, polymer composites reinforced with such sized reinforcing fillers, as well as articles, components, and products including such polymers composites, are also disclosed.
