Method of making coated article having antibacterial and/or antifungal coating and resulting product
Techniques are provided for making a coated article including an antibacterial and/or antifungal coating. In certain example embodiments, the method includes providing a first sputtering target including Zr; providing a second sputtering target including Zn; and co-sputtering from at least the first and second sputtering targets in the presence of nitrogen to form a layer including Zn.sub.xZr.sub.yN.sub.z on a glass substrate. These layers may be heat-treated or thermally tempered to form a single layer including Zn.sub.xZr.sub.yO.sub.z. In other examples, two discrete layers of Zn and Zr may be formed. The coating may be heated or tempered to form a single layer including Zn.sub.xZr.sub.yO.sub.z. Coated articles made using these methods may have antibacterial and/or antifungal properties.
Thin films and a method for making the same
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a porous aluminum oxide thin film having a surface RMS roughness value of less than 1 nm. The thin film may also comprise phosphorus. The disclosed thin films may have a refractive index of from 1 to 2, such as from 1 to 1.5. Also disclosed are embodiments of as method for making the disclosed thin films, comprising forming an aqueous solution of the alumina precursor, a surfactant and optionally a phosphorus-containing precursor, and depositing the solution on a substrate.
LOW-E MATCHABLE COATED ARTICLES HAVING ABSORBER FILM AND CORRESPONDING METHODS
A low-E coating has good color stability (a low ΔE* value) upon heat treatment (HT). Thermal stability may be improved by the provision of an as-deposited crystalline or substantially crystalline layer of or including zinc oxide, doped with at least one dopant (e.g., Sn), immediately under an infrared (IR) reflecting layer of or including silver; and/or by the provision of at least one dielectric layer of or including an oxide of zirconium. These have the effect of significantly improving the coating's thermal stability (i.e., lowering the ΔE* value). An absorber film may be designed to adjust visible transmission and provide desirable coloration, while maintaining durability and/or thermal stability. The dielectric layer (e.g., of or including an oxide of Zr) may be sputter-deposited so as to have a monoclinic phase in order to improve thermal stability.
CHEMICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION PROCESS FOR DEPOSITING A COATING AND THE COATING FORMED THEREBY
A chemical vapor deposition process for depositing a coating comprising silicon oxide and titanium oxide is provided. A coating formed by the chemical vapor deposition process is also provided.
Antimicrobial articles with silver-containing alkali silicate coating and methods of making thereof
An antimicrobial article having a substrate, and a coating on a surface of the substrate. The coating includes a silver-containing alkali silicate. The antimicrobial article has an antimicrobial efficacy of greater than or equal to about 90.0% according to EPA Test Method for Efficacy of Copper Alloy Surfaces as a Sanitizer. The coating may further include at least one of a boron-containing compound and an aluminum-containing compound. A method for forming antimicrobial articles includes coating a substrate with a mixture comprising an alkali silicate; curing the coating at a temperature from greater than or equal to about 300° C. to less than or equal to about 620° C. for a duration of greater than or equal to about 15 minutes to less than or equal to about 120 minutes; and contacting the coating with an antimicrobial medium comprising silver nitrate and an alkali nitrate.
LOW-REFLECTION FILM-COATED TRANSPARENT SUBSTRATE, PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION DEVICE, COATING LIQUID FOR FORMING LOW-REFLECTION FILM OF LOW-REFLECTION FILM-COATED TRANSPARENT SUBSTRATE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LOW-REFLECTION FILM-COATED TRANSPARENT SUBSTRATE
A low-reflection film-coated transparent substrate of the present invention includes a transparent substrate and a low-reflection film formed on at least one principal surface of the transparent substrate. The low-reflection film is a porous film including: fine silica particles being solid and spherical and having an average particle diameter of 80 to 150 nm; and a binder containing silica as a main component, the fine silica particles being bound by the binder. The binder further contains an aluminum compound. The low-reflection film contains as components: 55 to 70 mass % of the fine silica particles; 25 to 40 mass % of the silica of the binder; 0.1 to 1.5 mass % of the aluminum compound in terms of Al.sub.2O.sub.3; and 0.25 to 3% of an organic component. The low-reflection film has a thickness of 80 to 800 nm. A transmittance gain is 2.5% or more, the transmittance gain being defined as an increase of average transmittance of the low-reflection film-coated transparent substrate in a wavelength range of 380 to 850 nm relative to average transmittance of the transparent substrate uncoated with the low-reflection film in the wavelength range. The organic component includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a β-ketoester and a β-diketone.

Top plate for cooking device
A technical object of the present invention is to devise a top plate for a cooking appliance that can suppress proliferation of bacteria or mold. In order to achieve the technical object, the top plate for a cooking appliance of the present invention includes: a crystallized glass substrate having a cooking surface on which a cooking device is placed; and a decorative layer formed on the cooking surface, in which the decorative layer includes 30 vol % to 100 vol % of ZnOB.sub.2O.sub.3-based glass and 0 vol % to 70 vol % of refractory filler powder.
MAP CREATION AND LOCALIZATION FOR AUTONOMOUS DRIVING APPLICATIONS
An end-to-end system for data generation, map creation using the generated data, and localization to the created map is disclosed. Mapstreamsor streams of sensor data, perception outputs from deep neural networks (DNNs), and/or relative trajectory datacorresponding to any number of drives by any number of vehicles may be generated and uploaded to the cloud. The mapstreams may be used to generate map dataand ultimately a fused high definition (HD) mapthat represents data generated over a plurality of drives. When localizing to the fused HD map, individual localization results may be generated based on comparisons of real-time data from a sensor modality to map data corresponding to the same sensor modality. This process may be repeated for any number of sensor modalities and the results may be fused together to determine a final fused localization result.
