Method for operating a household appliance and household appliance
In a method for operating a household appliance having a user interface for operation of the household appliance by a plurality of users, a number of predetermined usage actions of a particular user of the plurality of users when operating the household appliance is registered in a user-specific manner, and a user-specific control surface is provided by way of the user interface for the particular user on the basis of the usage actions of the particular user as registered in a user-specific manner.
MONITORING AND CONTROL OF THERMAL SANITIZATION IN AUTOMATED CLEANING MACHINES
Systems and/or methods for the monitoring and/or control of thermal sanitization in automated cleaning machines are described. A cleaning machine controller may predict a number of heat unit equivalents that will be delivered during a cleaning process based on a sump temperature difference (i.e., a change in the temperature of the cleaning solution in the sump) experienced at or near the beginning of the cleaning process. One or more cleaning process parameters may be adjusted and/or controlled based on the sump temperature difference in order to ensure that a target number of heat unit equivalents are delivered in order to achieve thermal sanitization of the wares subjected to the cleaning process.
DISHWASHER AND METHOD FOR DETECTING CAMERA FAILURE BY DISHWASHER
According to an implementation of the present disclosure, the dishwasher includes a case forming an outer appearance of the dishwasher and defining an opening at a front side of the case; a door configured to open and close the opening; a tub configured to receive washing water; a sump disposed at a bottom surface of the tub and configured to collect and spray the washing water; a rack disposed inside the sump and configured to accommodate a dish; a dish recognition camera configured to capture an upper portion of the rack and disposed at at least one of an inner surface of the door or an inner surface of the tub; and a controller configured to control operation of the dishwasher and the dish recognition camera.
WATER CHARACTERISTIC SELECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Systems and methods are described, which relate to the control of additive dispensers to provide defined amounts of one or more additive compounds to water to produce customized water. A given additive dispenser may include multiple inputs and/or outputs. Predefined water profiles may be stored in memory. A given water profile may define the amounts of additives to be delivered by the additive dispensers to achieve desired water characteristics. A controller may determine actual water characteristics of input water based on corresponding sensor data, and may compare the actual water characteristics to desired water characteristics in order to determine the amount of additive or additives that should be delivered to the input water to achieve the desired water characteristics. The additive dispensers may be network-enabled and may include transceivers configured to receive instructions related to production of customized water from a user device.
RESIDENTIAL DEVICE FEEDBACK SYSTEM AND METHOD
Systems and methods are described, which relate to internet-of-things (IoT) feedback systems, in which data received from a given IoT device may be analyzed by a controller and used as a basis for controlling another IoT device and/or sending an alert to a user. The controller may activate a dehumidifier upon detecting activation of a sump pump. The controller may monitor water level data and alert a user and/or request maintenance of the sump pump upon detecting the water level exceeds a threshold. The controller may monitor dishwasher data to detect suboptimal performance of a dishwasher, in response to which the controller may instruct valves of a manifold and water heater to close to isolate the dishwasher, and instruct a water softener to elevate salt levels of softened water during a self-cleaning cycle of the dishwasher.
Dosing device for a cleaning machine
A system for dosing substances such as cleaning and/or care agents is disclosed. The system includes a dosing device, at least one energy source, a control unit, a sensor unit, and at least two cartridges for respectively accommodating at least one of the cleaning and/or care agents. The at least two cartridges are capable of being coupled to the dosing device.
DISHWASHER THERMOMETER WITH WIRELESS TEMPERATURE LOGGER AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A dishwasher thermometer captures temperature data of temperature sensed within a dishwasher during a wash cycle. The dishwasher thermometer includes a wireless communication interface that transmits the captured temperature data to one or more of a server and a monitor device. When the captured temperature data indicates that the wash cycle did not achieve defined temperature threshold(s), an alert is generated at the server and/or the monitor device indicating that the wash cycle did not meet appropriate washing conditions. In embodiments, the temperature data may be accessible to a third party for certification of the dishwasher wash cycle.
Appliance with light guide
An appliance, such as a dishwasher, can include a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber with an access opening, a closure moveable relative to the access opening to selectively open and close the access opening and having at least one exterior surface, and a light source located within the closure. The appliance can also include a controller communicatively coupled to the light source, and an antenna communicatively coupled to the controller.
REUSABLE FOOD OR BEVERAGE CONTAINER SYSTEM
A reusable food or beverage container system and method of operation automates tracking, returning, washing, and outputting of reusable food or beverage containers. A reusable food or beverage container has an identification device associated therewith. The reusable food or beverage container is used to supply a food or beverage to a customer and associated with a customer identifier. When the customer is done using the reusable food or beverage container, it is returned to a receptacle of the system, and automatically transported to a washing subsystem where it is washed, sanitized, and dried, and then output to a stack or other organized storage structure of container.
CONTROL OF A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE
A method for controlling a domestic appliance includes the following steps: determining conventional operating parameters when the domestic appliance is in operation; determining a correlation of the operating parameters with respect to external information; and determining a proposal for operating the domestic appliance with the modified operating parameters if the external information deviates from a conventional value.
