A beverage container washing system may be used for rapid washing and/or sanitizing of beverage containers, e.g., for use in a retail environment to wash and/or sanitize customer-provided beverage containers prior to filling the beverage containers with purchased beverages, among other applications. Separate entrance and exit openings may be provided in some instances to minimize employee interaction with unwashed customer beverage containers, and a beverage container may be conveyed from the entrance opening to the exit opening past one or more stations using a holder that is capable of spinning the beverage container when the beverage container is disposed in at least one of the stations.

A sanitizing system for preventing the spread of harmful germs on food or beverage containers by utilizing a quick and compact UV sanitizing system. The doors of the pass-through chamber allow the customer to insert an un-sanitized container on the entry (dirty) side of the system, and the retail employee to remove the sanitized container from the exit (clean) side of the system without having to touch any other surface (doors, knobs, handles, etc.) than the container itself. The system utilizes movable UV light sources to minimize the time required for effective sanitizing.

A sanitizing and washing system encourages the use of reusable food or beverage containers by utilizing a quick and compact system to sanitize and wash the containers prior to reuse. The doors of the pass-through chamber allow the customer to insert an unsanitized and unwashed container on the entry (dirty) side of the system, and the retail employee to remove the sanitized and washed container from the exit (clean) side of the system without having to touch any other surface (doors, knobs, handles, etc.) than the container itself. The system utilizes a UV light source to sanitize the exterior surfaces of the container, while a washing nozzle sprays cleaning fluid to wash and remove residue from the interior surfaces.

A dishwasher (1) for cleaning drinking vessels, wherein the dishwasher (1) has a treatment zone (3) and a conveyor apparatus (6) for conveying the items of washware (2) to be cleaned from an introduction region (4) of the dishwasher (1) through the treatment zone (3) to a removal region (5) of the dishwasher (1). The conveyor apparatus (6) is configured to convey a previously defined or definable group of items of washware (2) to be cleaned in batches from the introduction region (4) through the treatment zone (3) and then to feed the group of items of washware (2) as cleaned items of washware (2) to the removal region (5).

A dishwasher (1) for cleaning washware items (2) in the form of drinking vessels, in particular drinking cups, mugs, glasses or bottles, wherein the dishwasher is in particular configured as a counter module of a counter system and includes at least one and preferably exactly one treatment zone (3) with an associated placement area (4) and an associated removal area (5). The washware item to be cleaned can preferably manually be placed into the treatment zone via the placement area and the cleaned washware item can preferably manually be removed from the treatment zone via the removal area. The placement area and the removal area are disposed opposite one another with the interposition of the treatment zone. A dishwasher includes an input region, a transport apparatus for transporting washware items from the input region to a treatment region and on to an output or removal region. The input region of the dishwasher includes at least one receptacle opening configured such that a washware item to be cleaned is manually insertable into a loading region of the dishwasher, wherein the receptacle opening is associated with a closure element that is movable relative to a machine frame of the dishwasher and between an open position and a closed position. The input region includes an insertion control system that cooperates with the closure element and is configured such that the closure element is only moved into its open position when it is recognized and/or verified with the aid of the insertion control system that the operator of the dishwasher is authorized to clean the washware item to be cleaned.

A counter system for transferring foodstuffs, wherein the counter system has a first region assigned to the counter staff and a second region segregated therefrom and assigned to the customer. The counter system also has a dishwasher for cleaning items of washware, in particular in the form of mugs, cups, glasses, bowls or plates. The dishwasher has a treatment zone, an introduction region and a removal region, wherein the introduction region is accessible from the second region of the counter system and the removal region is accessible from the first region of the counter system.
