Treatment device and treatment method for chlorine bypass dust

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a treat chlorine bypass dust while preventing increases in chemical cost and concentrations of heavy metals in clinker, and ensuring stability in quality of cement. In a chlorine bypass facility 1 extracting a part G of combustion gas, while cooling it, from a kiln exhaust gas passage, which runs from an inlet end of a cement kiln to a bottom cyclone, and recovering a high chlorine concentration chlorine bypass dust D5 from the extracted gas G1, a slurry S containing chlorine bypass dust and SO2 gas or/and CO2 gas are contacted with each other to obtain solid content. The slurry containing chlorine bypass dust and an exhaust gas from the chlorine bypass facility or/and the exhaust gas from the cement kiln can be contacted with each other, and the solid content can be fed to a cement finishing process, which allows cement with low CaO and Ca(OH)2 contents and with stable property such as setting time to be produced.

Methods and apparatus for reducing the content of controlled acidic pollutants in clinker kiln emissions are disclosed. The methods and apparatus include introducing bypass dust produced during production of clinker into one or more locations between the preheater exhaust and the inlet to a dust filter including into a gas conditioning tower. Total bypass dust separated from the kiln exhaust gas may be used. The bypass dust can be separated into a fine and coarse portions. Fine or total bypass dust can be mixed with water to form a bypass dust slurry that can be introduced into the gas conditioning tower. Bypass dust can be used to reduce the content of acidic pollutants such as hydrogen chloride HCl and sulfur oxides SO.sub.x from clinker kiln emissions.

A method for reducing pollution in a cement kiln environment and a system for treating cement kiln exhaust gas are provided. The method includes the steps of: treating a cement kiln exhaust gas stream with a treating fluid, such as a water soluble alkaline-earth metal sulfide. In one application, the treating fluid is injected by spraying droplets into the cement kiln exhaust gas stream. A system for treating cement kiln exhaust gas includes a reagent containing a water soluble alkaline-earth metal sulfide in water, and a nozzle to spray the reagent into the cement kiln exhaust gas stream.

A method of processing exhaust gas from a cement plant, the cement plant including one or several raw meal mills for milling a cement raw meal, one or several preheater strings, each having a plurality of preheater stages, and a rotary kiln, wherein the one or several preheater strings are for preheating the cement raw meal in counter-current flow with an exhaust gas from the rotary kiln. The method includes extracting the exhaust gas from a second highest or highest stage of at least one of the preheater string(s), cooling the exhaust gas to a temperature of <250 C., dedusting the exhaust gas, introducing the cooled and dedusted exhaust gas into a carbon capture installation, in which CO.sub.2 is separated from the exhaust gas for obtaining a CO.sub.2 lean gas, wherein the exhaust gas, when being introduced into the carbon capture installation, has a CO.sub.2-content of >25 vol.-%.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CEMENT CLINKER AND CEMENT PLANT

A method for manufacturing cement clinker includes the steps: preheating a raw meal in a first preheater using kiln off-gas to provide a partially preheated raw meal, preheating the partially preheated raw meal in a second preheater to provide preheated raw meal, precalcination of the pre-heated raw meal in a calciner being a circulating fluidized bed reactor by burning fuel with oxygen and recirculated calciner exhaust gas instead of air to provide a precalcined raw meal wherein at least 2 mbar overpressure are adjusted in the calciner, transferring the precalcined raw meal to a rotary kiln for sintering to provide the cement clinker, cooling the cement clinker, and capturing carbon dioxide from a calciner exhaust gas in a carbon dioxide purification unit.
