Drilling fluid compositions include invert emulsion fluids having an oleaginous phase, an aqueous phase, and an emulsifier composition that includes an ethoxylated alcohol compound and a polyaminated fatty acid compound. The ethoxylated alcohol compound has the formula R.sup.1—(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.n—OH, where R.sup.1 is a hydrocarbyl group having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms and n is from 1 to 8. The ethoxylated alcohol compound has a Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance (HLB) of less than or equal to 6. The polyaminated fatty acid compound has the formula R.sup.2—CO—NH—CH.sub.2—CH.sub.2—N(COR.sup.2)—CH.sub.2—CH.sub.2—NH—CO—R.sup.3, where R.sup.2 is a hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms and R.sup.3 is a hydrocarbyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms or an alkylene carboxylate group having formula —R.sup.4—COOH, where R.sup.4 is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbylene having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. Methods of drilling wells include operating a drill in a wellbore in the presence of drilling fluid compositions.

Synthesis and application of an alcohol amine with an extended main carbon chain are provided, belonging to the field of chemical building materials. Under the action of a catalyst, tertiary amine is subjected to a two-step substitution reaction, a hydrolytic reaction and a reducing reaction to obtain a novel alcohol amine (NAA). The novel alcohol amine as provided may have a better grinding aid effect than triethanolamine while is added into cement as a cement grinding aid, and thus has a wide application prospect.

A method and system for producing low-alkalinity sulphoaluminate cement with a new mineral system using steel slag. The method includes the following steps: evenly mixing and homogenizing ground steel slag with dry desulfurization gypsum, aluminum ash and carbide slag according to a set ratio; and conveying the homogenized raw meal to a rotary kiln for calcination to obtain cement clinker, where the calcination temperature is 1200° C.-1270° C., and the calcination time is 20-60 min; the alkalinity modulus of the homogenized cement raw meal is 0.81-0.9, and the Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 content is 8-13%. The method breaks through the requirements on contents of calcium, aluminum and iron in traditional sulphoaluminate cement production, and realizes application of a large amount of steel slag.
