Disclosed is a cleaning device for cleaning items to be cleaned. The cleaning device has at least one cleaning chamber and at least one covering device at least partially surrounding the cleaning chamber. The covering device can be moved in an opening movement direction from a closed position into an open position or in a closing movement direction from an open position into a closed position by means of at least one electromechanical drive via at least one transmission. The cleaning device furthermore has a sensor, which is designed to detect an action of a manual force on the covering device in the opening movement direction or in the closing movement direction. The cleaning device is furthermore designed to control the electromechanical drive in accordance with the detection of the action of the manual force.

A batch-type warewash machine includes a chamber for receiving wares to be cleaned, the chamber having a chamber access opening and a single spray zone, with at least one spray system for spraying liquid onto wares in the single spray zone. A door is movable between a closed position covering the chamber access opening and an open position away from the chamber access opening to allow wares to be moved in and out of the chamber. A curtain structure is mounted on the machine, the curtain structure located behind the door when the door is in the closed position. The curtain structure remains in position and at least partially covers the chamber access opening when the door is in the open position so as to retain hot moist air within the chamber when the door is moved to the open position upon completion of a ware cleaning cycle.

A ware rack for holding wares, such as long trays, to be washed includes a wire form unit configured with multiple tray loading stations. At least one tray loading station includes: an upper wire support extending laterally in a first rack direction from one side toward an opposite side of the rack; a first lower wire support extending laterally in the first direction and at a height that is lower than a height of the upper wire support; and a second lower wire support extending laterally in the first direction and at a height that is lower than the height of the upper wire support. At least one of the first lower wire support or the second lower wire support is offset, in a second rack direction from the upper wire support to form a tray receiving region, the second rack direction being perpendicular to the first rack direction.
