Expansion agents for cement compositions
Expansive cement compositions for use in subterranean wellbores that include a monophase amorphous hydraulic binder material (MAHBM). The MAHBM may include a plurality of particles having a silica core and an amorphous coating substantially surrounding the silica core. The coating may comprise, for example, a plurality of amorphous α-dicalcium silicate hydrate nanoparticles or microparticles. The MAHBM may be used as an expansion agent in a cement composition or used as an expansive cement by itself.
Cement-based cementitious material and its formation method
A method for forming cement-based cementitious material includes: pouring a cement paste into a mold; applying an electrical current to the cement paste to perform an electro-osmotic reaction; and transferring the reacted cement paste into a water tank for curing, thereby obtaining a functionally graded cement-based cementitious material. A pair of electrodes is placed in the mold and connected to an external power source. The compressive strength of the functionally graded cement-based cementitious material in the middle is lower than that at either of both ends.

MARINE CONCRETE ADDITIVE, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND USE THEREOF
A preparation method for a concrete additive for a maritime work environment includes: S1, compounding a volcanic ash material containing aluminum oxide and lime in proportion, loading a mixture into a sugar coating machine, and spraying a proper amount of alcohol, to prepare spherical particles; S2, adding the spherical particles in S1 and cement into the sugar coating machine, uniformly spraying deionized water in a rotating process, and coating surface layers of the spherical particles with a layer of cement for maintenance; and S3, placing the maintained particles in S2 into a hydrophobic emulsion, and coating the surface layers of the particles with a layer of hydrophobic emulsion, to obtain a concrete additive.

PLASTIC PROCESSING SYSTEM AND APPARATUS
Described is a method of manufacturing a binder and the use of the binder to manufacture a roading mixture through mixing with aggregate, or a composite plastic product through the mixture of binder with particulate matter and/or fibre. The binder comprises mixing a plastic with two or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers in a mixing tank. The two or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers may have different homopolymer glass transition temperatures (TO wherein a first monomer structural unit has a homopolymer T.sub.g of greater than 80° C. and a second monomer having a homopolymer T.sub.g of less than 80° C. The plastic may be selected from a plastic comprising a styrene homopolymer, a styrene copolymer, a copolymer of an alkene and vinyl acetate, acrylic polymer and nylon based polymers or co-polymers, polyester-based thermoplastic polymer resin, propylene-based thermoplastic polymer and homo-polymer of an alkene or combination thereof.
