Natural plant fibre reinforced concrete

A composite material and process for forming composite material. The composite material comprises a quantity of plastinated plant distributed within a matrix material. The process comprises separating a plant material into plant fibers plastinating the plant fibers and combining the plastinated plant fibers with a matrix material. The plant fibers may be selected form the group consisting of bamboo, hemp and flax. The plant fibers may be formed by crushing a portion of a plant. The matrix material may comprise Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). The PET may be shredded and heated. The heated composite material may be formed into rebar and be arranged in a pattern within a concrete slurry.

Lightweight hollow particles for use in cementing

A lightweight composite having an activated surface contains a lightweight hollow core particle having cement grains which may be adhered to the hollow core or embedded in the surface of the hollow core. The hollow core particle may be prepared from calcium carbonate and a mixture of clay, such as bentonite, and a glassy inorganic material, such as glass spheres, glass beads, glass bubbles, borosilicate glass and fiberglass.

A grout material for heat transfer according to the present invention comprises a sand particle; and an outer layer coated on the surface of individual sand particle, wherein the outer layer is composed of a mixture of graphite powder and a hydraulic inorganic binder.

A method for producing the grout material for heat transfer according to the present invention comprises the steps of: mixing graphite powder and a hydraulic inorganic binder; coating the mixture of graphite powder and the hydraulic inorganic binder on the outer surface of the sand particles while stirring the sand particles by spraying water; curing the hydraulic inorganic binder on the sand particles on which the mixture of graphite powder and the hydraulic inorganic binder is coated; and drying the sand particles on which the mixture of graphite powder and the hydraulic inorganic binder is coated.

The grout material for heat transfer is mixed with the mixture of water and bentonite powder to form a slurry and is used for a grouting process in which the prepared slurry is injected to give water-proof property to the grout material for heat transfer.

Strength retrogression mitigation materials for cement compositions

Cement compositions for use in subterranean wellbores that include a monophase amorphous hydraulic binder material (MAHBM). The MAHBM may include a plurality of particles having a silica core and an amorphous coating substantially surrounding the silica core. The coating may comprise a plurality of amorphous particles, such as α-dicalcium silicate hydrate nanoparticles or microparticles. The MAHBM may be used as a strength retrogression mitigating additive in a cement composition or used as a high temperature cement.
