EMULSION POLYMER TWO-COMPONENT COMPOSITIONS FOR FAST CURING CEMENTITIOUS WATERPROOFING MEMBRANES
The present invention provides two-component compositions comprising a component A) one or more acrylic aqueous emulsion copolymer having a measured glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of from −20 to 0° C. and which is the copolymerization product of (i) from 60 to 89.9 wt. % of one or more nonionic (meth)acrylic monomers, (ii) from 10 to 40 wt. % of one or more vinyl aromatic monomers, (iii) from 0.1 to 2.0 wt. % of one or more monomers chosen from itaconic acid, methacrylic acid, amides of a,β-unsaturated C.sub.3 to C.sub.6 carboxylic acids, and mixtures thereof, all wt. %s of monomers based on the total monomer solids, wherein the aqueous emulsion copolymer has at least one residue of an ascorbic acid reducing agent or is the copolymerization product of a monomer (iii) comprising itaconic acid, and, a separate component B) comprising a fast curing dry mix powder composition of a hydraulic cement and a high alumina content cement.
REINFORCED LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATES
An aggregate includes a polymeric foam present in a range of about 80 vol % to about 85 vol % of the aggregate. A cementitious matrix is present in a range of about 10 vol % to about 13 vol % of the aggregate. One or more resins are present in an amount of less than about 2 vol % of the aggregate, and one or more reinforcing fibers are present in an amount of less than about 1 vol % of the aggregate.

Plastomer-modified asphalt binders meeting MSCR specifications, asphalt paving materials with such asphalt binders, and methods for fabricating such asphalt binders
Plastomer-modified asphalt binders meeting MSCR specifications, asphalt paving materials with such asphalt binders, and methods for fabricating such asphalt binders are provided. The asphalt binder contains a base asphalt and a plastomer. If the plastomer has a drop point no greater than about 139° C., the asphalt binder further contains sulfur; sulfur-containing compounds, such as hydrocarbyl polysulfides and thiuram disulfides; phenolic resins; metal oxides; or a combination thereof. The asphalt binder is substantially free of elastomer.

Cement slurries, cured cement and methods of making and use thereof
Cured cements, cement slurries, and methods of making cured cement and methods of using cement slurries are provided. The method of making a cured cement comprising: synthesizing nanomaterials via chemical vapor deposition on at least one of cement particles or cement additive particles to form nanomaterial particles, adding the nanomaterial particles to a cement slurry to form a modified cement slurry, and curing the modified cement slurry to form a cured cement, in which the nanomaterials are interconnected and form a conductive web within the cured cement.
Sequenced polymers for monitoring the filtrate and the rheology
The present invention relates to the use of a sequenced polymer as an agent for monitoring the filtrate and the rheology of a fluid injected under pressure into an oil rock, wherein the fluid comprises solid particles and/or is brought into contact with solid particles within the oil rock after being injected, the polymer comprising: a first block which is adsorbed onto at least some of the particles; and a second block having a composition other than that of the first block and a mean molecular weight of more than 10,000 g/mol, for example more than 100,000 g/mol, and which is soluble in the fluid.
