Ceramic Composition
A ceramic composition which can be used as a sintering aid includes 1-2 mol % of magnesium oxide (MgO), 5-15 mol % of aluminum oxide (Al.sub.2O.sub.3), 25-40 mol % of silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2), 40-55 mol % of calcium oxide (CaO), 0.1-8 mol % of ferric oxide (Fe.sub.2O.sub.3), 0.1-2 mol % of sulfur trioxide (SO.sub.3) and 0.1-2 mol % of titanium oxide (TiO.sub.2). Alternatively, the ceramic composition includes 1-8 mol % of MgO, 5-15 mol % of Al.sub.2O.sub.3, 25-40 mol % of SiO.sub.2, 40-55 mol % of CaO, 0.1-8 mol % of Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, 0.1-2 mol % of SO.sub.3 and 0.9-2 mol % of TiO.sub.2.
BASE MATERIAL FOR DISK ROLL, PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF, DISK ROLL AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF
A base material for a disk roll containing a layered silicate, in which the layered silicate is constituted to contain two or more kinds of minerals having an interlayer distance exceeding 10 angstroms. A base material for a disk roll is excellent in the compressive strength and wear resistance thereby.
Compacted ceramic materials with low porosity
The invention relates to a high-performance compacted ceramic material, comprising between 40%-85% by weight of glassy phase, having a density between 2.3 and 3.0 g/cm3, and characterized in that it has an internal porosity of less than 4% by volume. This material is highly resistant to mechanical and chemical action, sparingly permeable and prevents staining, so it is extremely suitable as a building material, particularly for kitchen countertops.
FOUNDRY MEDIA FORMED FROM SLURRY DROPLETS AND METHODS OF USE
A foundry media pellet includes a sintered ceramic material having a size from about 10 AFS GFN to about 110 AFS GFN, and a surface roughness of less than about 4 microns.
REFRACTORY ARTICLE AND COMPOSITION
There is provided a refractory article for use in metal casting and a composition for manufacture thereof, comprising a particulate refractory material, an oxidisable fuel, an oxidant, a sensitizer; a binder, and from 0.5 to 5 wt % CaSO.sub.4.
Subgrade irrigation for site preparation having clayey expansive soil
A method of reducing the swell potential of an expansive clayey soil comprising expansive clay mineral(s) at a proportion of the total weight of the expansive clayey soil (P.sub.ECM). The method includes (a) calculating a first amount of a swelling reduction agent to be incorporated into the expansive clayey soil to form a first swelling reduction agent incorporated expansive clayey soil with a reduced swell potential no greater than a pre-set level T with a nano-level constitutive modeling based on the water content and the CEC of the expansive clayey soil and P.sub.ECM. The swelling reduction agent is at least one selected from calcite, gypsum, potassium chloride, a composition comprising exchangeable K.sup.+, a composition comprising exchangeable Ca.sup.2+, and/or a composition comprising exchangeable Mg.sup.2+, and (b) incorporating the first amount of the swelling reduction agent into the expansive clayey soil to form the first swelling reduction agent incorporated expansive clayey soil.
Method of Making Metal Objects by Casting
A 3D printer creates a ceramic casting shell of high accuracy. Casting molten metal into this shell creates an accurate metal object. The ceramic shell is formed from a paste made from a low hardness ceramic, dried by freeze drying. To overcome the shear thinning behaviour of ceramic pastes a positive displacement pump is in close proximity to the nozzle.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING INDUSTRIAL CLAY
The invention describes a process for obtaining clay having improved characteristics that comprises incorporating an inorganic matrix onto an organic matrix at determined proportions. The industrial clay obtained is malleable and highly resistant to compression and strain, of great use in the industry of prototype elaboration.
METHOD OF PRODUCING CLAY ACTIVATED/CALCINED WITH CALCIUM ALUMINOFERRITE OR CALCIUM FERRITE AND CLAY COMPOSITION OBTAINED BY THE METHOD
The present invention patent refers to a method of obtaining a clay composition activated/calcined with a fraction of calcium aluminoferrite or calcium ferrite and clay composition obtained by the aforementioned method, more precisely belonging to the field of industrial cement manufacturing, where said method discloses a process of forming calcium aluminoferrite or calcium ferrite in-situ to deliver an activated/calcined clay from red clay that is most appreciated for adding to a cement composition.
CERAMIC SLATE WITH COLORED JADE EFFECT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to a ceramic slate with a colored jade effect and a preparation method comprising: pressing and forming raw materials containing a ceramic base material and colored glass fragments to obtain a ceramic green body; drying and firing the ceramic green body to give a ceramic slate with colored jade effect particles dispersed on the surface of the green body; wherein, the colored glass fragments account for 3 wt % to 5 wt % of the ceramic base material. Since colored glass waste instead of frits and pigments is used to prepare the ceramic slate with the colored jade effect, the ceramic slate does not have the phenomenon of pigment dispersion after high-temperature firing, and the surface of the fired ceramic slate shows a shape of micro-protrusion, so that the polished tile surface is smoother and free from pits, resulting in a better tile surface effect.
