PREPREG FOR CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE
A prepreg including a support with, for more than 90% of the weight thereof, of ceramic fibers, and a thermoreversible liquefiable gel covering, at least in part, at least one portion of the ceramic fibers. The liquefiable gel including: 20% to 60% of ceramic particles and 0% to 10% of metal particles, both as percentage by volume based on the volume of the liquefiable gel; 0.2% to 10% of a thermoreversible hydrocolloid and 0% to 7% of one or more other constituents, both as a percentage by weight on the basis of the total weight of the ceramic particles and metal particles; the balance to 100% being water. It being possible for the ceramic particles and the metal particles to be replaced, partially or completely, by precursors of ceramic particles and of metal particles, respectively, capable of forming, by heat treatment above 200° C., ceramic particles and metal particles, respectively.
METERING DEVICE FOR WITHDRAWING AND DISPENSING A MELT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE METERING DEVICE
A metering device (10) for withdrawing and dispensing a melt consisting of or containing an oxide fibre reinforced oxide ceramic composite material.
PROCESS FOR COLD SINTERING OF CALCIUM CARBONATE FOR PRECAST CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Embodiments relate to use of a solution having low molarity to form a mixture with a ceramic compound that will facilitate formation of a sintered ceramic compact exhibiting grain boundary formation, low porosity, adequate compressive strength, and adequate hardness to be used as a precast block 108 for cement.

IONIC CONDUCTORS
A solid ionic conducting material for use in an electrochemical device comprises an oxyhydroxide or hydrated oxide derived from of an oxide with a perovskite, Brownmillerite, layered oxide, and/or K.sub.4CdCl.sub.6 structure, the elemental composition of the initial oxide being selected to provide suitable conduction properties for the derived anhydrous or hydrated oxyhydroxide or hydrated oxide. A method of making such a solid ionic conducting material, including treatment with water, and an electrochemical device incorporating such a solid ionic conducting material (optionally as an electrolyte) are also disclosed.
CERAMIC SUBSTRATE, LAYERED BODY, AND SAW DEVICE
A ceramic substrate is formed of a polycrystalline ceramic and has a supporting main surface. The supporting main surface has a roughness of 0.01 nm or more and 3.0 nm or less in terms of Sa. The number of projections and depressions with a height of 1 nm or more in a square region with 50 μm sides on the supporting main surface is less than 5 on average, and the number of projections and depressions with a height of 2 nm or more in the square region is less than 1 on average.
DIELECTRIC FILM AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENT
A dielectric film containing an alkaline earth metal oxide having a NaCl type crystal structure as a main component, wherein the dielectric film has a (111)-oriented columnar structure in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the dielectric film, and in a Cu—Kα X-ray diffraction chart of the dielectric film, a half width of the diffraction peak of (111) is in a range of from 0.3° to 2.0°.

DIAPHRAGM AND HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COMPRISING SAME
A diaphragm and a high-voltage battery including the diaphragm. A modification layer is coated on a surface of an inorganic ceramic particle, the modification layer can adsorb transition metal ions precipitated from an electrode material, thereby preventing the transition metal ions from forming transition metal precipitates on a surface of a negative electrode and improving safety, rate performance and cycle performance of the battery. At the same time, since the modification layer is coated on the surface of the inorganic ceramic particle, thus it will not have a significant impact on an internal resistance of the battery, and thereby not reducing the rate, low temperature, and cycle performances of the battery.
LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDE FILM AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL CONTAINING LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDE
Provided is a layered double hydroxide membrane containing a layered double hydroxide represented by the formula: M.sup.2+.sub.1−xM.sup.3+.sub.x(OH).sub.2A.sup.n−.sub.x/n.mH.sub.2O (where M.sup.2+ represents a divalent cation, M.sup.3+ represents a trivalent cation, A.sup.n− represents an n-valent anion, n is an integer of 1 or more, and x is 0.1 to 0.4), the layered double hydroxide membrane having water impermeability. The layered double hydroxide membrane includes a dense layer having water impermeability, and a non-flat surface structure that is rich in voids and/or protrusions and disposed on at least one side of the dense layer. The present invention provides an LDH membrane suitable for use as a solid electrolyte separator for a battery, the LDH membrane including a dense layer having water impermeability, and a specific structure disposed on at least one side of the dense layer and suitable for reducing the interfacial resistance between the LDH membrane and an electrolytic solution.
