SENSOR ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A MULTIFUNCTIONAL HOUSING
A dishwasher appliance includes a sump that collects wash fluid and defines a mounting port for receiving a sensor assembly. The sensor assembly includes an adapter that defines a plurality of sensor ports for receiving different sensors, such as a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, and a turbidity sensor. The adapter is translucent to facilitate turbidity sensing without introducing leak points. In addition, the adapter defines an internal chamber for receiving the wash fluid and an air chamber defined above the internal chamber to prevent direct contact between the wash fluid and the pressure sensor.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING A FILL CYCLE IN A DISHWASHER APPLIANCE
A dishwasher appliance includes a sump that defines a transition fill level where the cross sectional area of the sump increases. A pressure sensor is operably coupled to the sump for monitoring sump pressure and wash fluid level. A controller opens a water supply valve to provide a flow of water into the sump and monitors the sump pressure using the pressure sensor. The controller determines when the water has reached the transition fill level corresponding to a known transition fill volume. The controller determines a fill flow rate based on the amount of time needed to reach the transition fill volume and uses the fill flow rate to determine a remaining fill time needed to reach a target volume.
System and Method for Calibrating a Wash Fluid Level Detection System in a Dishwasher Appliance
A dishwasher appliance includes a sump that defines a transition fill level where the cross sectional area of the sump increases. A pressure sensor is operably coupled to the sump for monitoring sump pressure and wash fluid level. A controller calibrates the pressure sensor by monitoring a sump pressure and determining when the wash fluid has reached the transition fill level. A measured transition pressure is taken at this point and compared to a target transition pressure that is known based on the sump geometry. A slope correction factor is calculated based on the measured transition pressure and the target transition pressure to obtain improved pressure readings and wash fluid level measurements.
System and Method for Controlling the Water Fill Level Within a Dishwasher Appliance
A dishwasher appliance includes a sump, a water supply valve for providing a flow of water into the sump, and a circulation pump that circulates water that is collected in the sump to one or more spray arm assemblies. A pressure sensor is operably coupled to the sump for monitoring sump pressure and wash fluid level. A controller regulates the water supply valve to provide the flow of water into the sump and monitors the sump pressure during the fill process. The controller further determines that the circulation pump is primed when the rate of increase of the sump pressure exceeds the predetermined threshold rate and stops further filling of the sump.
Straw washer system, device, and method
In embodiments, the invention includes a system, an apparatus, and a method for cleaning reusable straws. The system includes a chamber configured to contain a liquid, a siphon to drain the chamber, a transducer to deliver sonic energy to the chamber, and a plurality of straws disposed in the chamber. Each straw includes a tubular wall defining a lumen. The lumen has a length and a cross-sectional area, and the cross-sectional area is substantially constant over the length.
SOLID DETERGENT DISPENSER FOR A WASHING MACHINE
A system for dispensing a detergent solution from a solid detergent into a dishwasher includes a dispenser that can collect water sprayed into the dishwasher and use the collected water to produce the detergent solution by dissolving a portion of the solid detergent, controlling the amount of the detergent solution produced, and releasing the produced detergent solution between cleaning cycles. The dispenser can perform these functions automatically without being electrically powered.
Process water flow detection in circulation pump
Provided are a method of detecting a change in process water flow of a circulation pump in an appliance for washing and rinsing goods, and an appliance performing the method. An appliance for washing and rinsing goods may be provided including a circulation pump, a sensing arrangement arranged to measure a property indicating torque of the circulation pump, and a controller. The controller may be arranged to average a first set of values of the measured property, thereby creating a first average, average at least a further set of values of the measured property, thereby creating at least one further average, compare the first average with the at least one further average, and to detect change in process water flow of the circulation pump based on a difference between the first average and the at least one further average.
Dishwasher with image-based fluid condition sensing
An image-based fluid condition sensor is configured to sense turbidity or another condition of fluid in the sump of a dishwasher using an image device positioned outside of the sump.
DISHWASHER THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEM
A dishwasher and method utilize a thermal imaging system in a dishwasher to configure a wash cycle and/or perform other operations in the dishwasher.
DISHWASHER AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
Disclosed are a dishwasher that sprays wash water to wash dishes or cookware and a method of controlling the same. The method of controlling the dishwasher includes supplying wash water from an external water source to a sump and intermittently driving a washing pump to change the level of water around a filter, thereby removing filth from the filter.
