Dishwasher appliance and method of operating a pump based on sump water

A method of determining a position of a diverter of a fluid circulation system in a dishwasher appliance includes determining a total amount of water supplied to the dishwasher appliance; activating a pump at a predetermined speed in response to determining the total amount of water supplied to the dishwasher appliance, the predetermined speed being based on the determined total amount of water; measuring a fluid pressure of an amount of sump water provided within a sump of the dishwasher appliance after activating the pump at the predetermined speed, the amount of sump water being at least part of the total amount of water; and determining a position of the diverter in response to measuring the fluid pressure of the amount of sump water, the position of the diverter being dependent on the measured fluid pressure.

ENERGY-SAVING DISHWASHER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

Disclosed in the present invention are an energy-saving dishwasher and a control method therefor. The inner container is arranged inside the housing, the inner container is internally provided with a manifold type dish rack for placing dishes and spraying steam to perform steam cleaning on the dishes, and the manifold type dish rack is placed on a supporting frame fixed to the inner container. A water storage tank, a steam/hot water integrated generating device and a water pump are arranged below the inner container, and the steam/hot water integrated generating device includes a generating assembly and a control assembly. The manifold type dish rack is configured to place the dishes and simultaneously sprays steam to clean the dishes. The steam/hot water integrated generating device is configured to generate steam and hot water, heating is performed to generate the steam, and then relative cooling is performed to generate the hot water.

FLAGGED WATER EVENT RESPONSE CYCLE RESUME FOR A DISHWASHER APPLIANCE

A method of operating a dishwasher appliance including a drain pump includes detecting a flagged water response state within the dishwasher appliance during a washing operation, ceasing a current cycle segment of the washing operation in response to detecting the flagged water response state, initiating a drain sequence at the drain pump after the current cycle segment has been ceased, determining a next scheduled cycle segment of the washing operation following the current cycle segment in response to initiating the drain sequence, detecting a non-flagged water event following the flagged water response state, and initiating the next scheduled cycle segment of the washing operation in response to detecting the non-flagged water event.

DISHWASHER, METHOD AND CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HANDLING CLOGGING CONDITION

Warewash machine cleaning notification and in-situ dilution process

A warewash machine includes in-situ tank soil load reduction that involves at least one of: (i) prior to addition of fresh water, draining the collection tank via a path that exits the collection tank at a location lower than a primary overflow path until wash liquid level in the collection tank drops below a standard operating level, and thereafter adding fresh water; or (ii) draining the collection tank via a path that exits the collection tank at a location lower than a primary overflow path while simultaneously adding fresh water; or (iii) adding fresh water such that wash liquid level in the collection tank rises above a standard operating level, and thereafter carrying out draining of the collection tank.

A dishwashing appliance may include a cabinet, a tub, a sump, and a filter assembly. The tub may be positioned within the cabinet and define a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing. The sump may be positioned at a bottom portion of the tub along a vertical direction. The sump may include an internal wall defining a collection chamber. The filter assembly may be at least partially received within the collection chamber. The filter assembly may include a top cap extending above the collection chamber. The top cap may include a fixed indicium calibrated to a predetermined fill volume of the dishwashing appliance.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE SUPPLY OF A LEVEL OF A LIQUID CONTAINED IN A VESSEL

A method includes actuating a pump at a constant nominal flow-rate to induce liquid flow out of a vessel through an outlet duct. The outlet duct communicates with the vessel with an upper aperture at an intermediate level height, and a lower aperture at a reduced level height. Flow of liquid is detected in the outlet duct. A digital signal assumes an alternate sequence of states when the liquid level is between the intermediate and reduced levels. Each state is an air-indicating state or liquid-indicating state. The presence or absence of air bubbles is detected in the flow of liquid. The digital signal is compared with a reference signal having a predetermined sequence of air-indicating states and liquid-indicating states. Pump actuation duration is modified as a function of a difference between the digital and reference signals. An apparatus is controls the supply of a liquid level in a vessel.
