Provided is a boron nitride sintered body including boron nitride particles and pores, the boron nitride sintered body having a sheet shape and a thickness of less than 2 mm. Provided is a method for manufacturing a boron nitride sintered body, the method including a sintering step of molding and heating a blend containing a boron carbonitride powder and a sintering aid to obtain a sheet-shaped boron nitride sintered body including boron nitride particles and pores, in which a thickness of the boron nitride sintered body obtained in the sintering step is less than 2 mm.

Gypsum panels, systems, and methods

Gypsum panels and methods of making gypsum panels are provided. Methods of making gypsum panels include: depositing a first gypsum slurry onto a first surface of a first fiberglass mat; allowing the first gypsum slurry to set to form at least a portion of a gypsum core; and applying a substantially continuous barrier coating comprising a polymer binder to a second surface, opposite the first surface, of the first fiberglass mat, in an amount of from about 1 lb/MSF to about 40 lb/MSF, such that the substantially continuous barrier coating has an average thickness of from about 1 micron to about 100 microns, wherein the substantially continuous barrier coating eliminates at least 99 percent of pin holes present in the exposed second surface of the first fiberglass mat.

Chemically Reactive Surface-Applied Waterproofing for Post-Construction Materials

Post-construction materials, including concrete, containing water insoluble polymers are disclosed herein. The water insoluble polymers are formed beneath the surface of the post-construction material using a first composition comprising a blend of fatty acid salts and a second composition comprising alkaline earth metal halides or alkaline earth metal carbonates.

Polysaccharide compositions and particulate materials coated therewith

Loose particulate materials can be problematic in various aspects. For example, loose particulate materials may generate dust or be difficult to consolidate together. Fines in loose particulate materials may also be an issue. Coated particulates may alleviate some of the foregoing issues. Suitable coated particulates may comprise a particulate material comprising sand or a ceramic, and a polysaccharide composition coated upon the particulate material, the polysaccharide composition comprising a functionalized polysaccharide. Other particulate materials such as wood chips and animal litter particulates may be coated with functionalized polysaccharides to achieve similar advantages.
