HYDROPHOBIC FINISH COMPOSITIONS WITH EXTENDED FLOW TIME RETENTION AND BUILDING PRODUCTS MADE THEREOF
20190055161 · 2019-02-21 · ·

Disclosed are hydrophobic finish compositions and cementitious articles made with the hydrophobic finish compositions. In some embodiments, the article is a waterproof gypsum panel surface reinforced with inorganic mineral fibers that face a flexible and hydrophobic cementitious finish possessing beneficial waterproofing properties. The waterproof gypsum panels of the invention have many uses, such as, tilebacker board in wet or dry areas of buildings, exterior weather barrier panel for use as exterior sheathing, and roof cover board having water durability and low surface absorption. The flexible and hydrophobic cementitious finish can include fly ash, film-forming polymer, silane compound (e.g., alkyl alkoxysilane), an extended flow time retention agent including either one or more carboxylic acids, salts of carboxylic acids, or mixtures thereof, and other optional additives.

PULVERULENT PRIMER COMPOSITION

Bio-based repair method for concrete

The invention provides a process for the bio-based reparation of a concrete element having an element surface with cavities, comprising applying a first liquid with a first composition and a second liquid with a second composition to the element surface of the concrete element to provide a combined product to the cavities, wherein the first composition and the second composition are selected to provide gel formation in the cavities after application of one or more of the first liquid and the second liquid to the element surface, wherein the first composition and the second composition are also selected to provide bacterial material, a calcium source, and a nutrient for bacteria in the cavities after application of the first liquid and the second liquid to the element surface, wherein the first liquid at least comprises sodium silicate and wherein the second liquid at least comprises the calcium source.

SKINNING OF CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODIES

An in situ inspection system and method to inspect a honeycomb body (122) skin in a skinning system. The inspection system includes a line illuminator (148) to generate a line illumination on the skin (136) perpendicular to an axial direction (112) of the honeycomb body travel, and a detector (152) to detect the line illumination scattered from the skin (136) and generate a signal based on the detected line illumination. A controller (184) is configured to receive the signal generated by the detector (152), compare the received signal to a previously stored defect free signal in real-time, and control at least one skinning process parameter based on the comparison. The method includes in situ inspecting the skin (136) and controlling at least one skinning process parameter based on the inspection. In the method, the in situ inspection includes illuminating a line of the skin (136) perpendicular to the axial direction (112) and detecting the illuminated line scattered from the skin (136).

Full-fiber burner brick and preparation method thereof

A full-fiber burner brick and a preparation method thereof, comprising mixing alumina crystal fiber and amorphous ceramic fiber with both of them being a combination of fibers of different lengths gradations, and moreover adding fine powder fillers of different particle size gradations and supplementing other additives. This enables the internal structure of the product more uniform, increases the bulk density of the product, and also benefits the suction filterability of fiber cotton blank, and is conducive to forming and improving the strength of the blank. The surface of the brick body is further provided with a coating, which can effectively protect the cotton fiber of the brick body fiber from harsh environments, improve its high temperature resistance, and help to extend the service life of the burner brick.
