There is provided a gypsum composition for a drying type coating material, the gypsum composition, when made into a gypsum-based coating material by addition of water, capable of forming a coating film in which color unevenness is suppressed even though the coating film is thin and smooth. This gypsum composition for a drying type coating material contains hemihydrate gypsum having a mean particle diameter of 50 m or less, calcium carbonate having a mean particle diameter of 50 m or less, and a setting retarder, wherein the gypsum composition has a content of calcium carbonate of 100 to 400 parts by mass and a content of the setting retarder of 0.1 parts by mass or more each based on 100 parts by mass of the hemihydrate gypsum.
Coating systems for cement composite articles
A method for making a coating composition by mixing one or more latex polymers and an aliphatic epoxy resin system having an epoxy equivalent weight less than 1000 and being distinct from the one or more latex polymers to provide an aqueous first component, and providing a second component having reactive groups that can react with the one or more epoxy resins. A mixture of the first and second components provides a film-forming curable coating composition that may be used on substrates including cement, cement fiberboard, wood, metal, plastic, ceramic, glass and composites.
DRY CONSTRUCTION COMPOSITION WHICH CAN BE WET-SPRAYED BY MEANS OF SCREW PUMP AND COMPRISING A BINDER AND A BIO-BASED FILLER - PREPARATION AND USES OF SUCH A COMPOSITION
A dry construction composition that is easily wet-sprayed by a screw pump to form an insulating and mechanically resistant material after hardening comprises: at least one binder that includes at least one primary binder comprising lime and/or at least one source of alumina and/or at least one source of calcium sulfate, at least one water retention agent, and preferably at least one surfactant; and at least one plant-based bio-based filler based on sunflower stalk and/or corn stalk and/or rape stalk, having a Bulk Density (BD) in kg/m.sup.3 that is less than 110. The ratio of the binder to the filler is between 2 and 9 in liters/kg. The composition can be mixed with water in a ratio of water/binder that is greater than or equal to 0.8 to form a wet composition. The wet composition can be sprayed onto a horizontal or vertical substrate or molded to a desired shape.
Polymer blends in the form of aqueous dispersions or powders that can be redispersed in water
Open time and creep resistance of hydraulically settable inorganic construction materials such as mortars and tile adhesives are both improved at the same time by the addition of a polymer mixture in the form of an aqueous dispersion or water-redispersible powder, containing one or more protective colloid-stabilized polymers having units derived from 20% to 30% by weight of vinyl chloride, 50% to 75% by weight of vinyl acetate, 5% to 20% by weight of ethylene, and one or more protective colloid-stabilized, vinyl halide-free polymers of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED PORTLAND CEMENT BASECOAT PLASTERS
Systems and methods according to present principles enhance aspects of applied plaster coats. In particular, the materials include a synthetic substitute aggregate (SSA), added to a cementitious base coat, for a plastering step prior to application of stucco or acrylic synthetic finishes or finish coats. The addition of SSA to a pre-blended cementitious base coat creates a light weight product which in some implementations is highly advantageous for the plastering industry.
COMPOSITION FOR INORGANIC BINDERS
The invention relates to a composition for inorganic binders, comprising at least one ketone-formaldehyde condensation product on the basis of a cyclic ketone and at least one anionic or nonionic surfactant and/or a thickener, and also to building material mixtures which comprise this composition, and to the use of the composition. The compositions improve the applications properties of the binder formulations.
Use of cellulose ether compounds for increasing the open time and improving the wettability of cement-based mortars
The present invention relates to cellulose ether compounds for increasing the open time and improving the wettability of cement-based mortars. The inventive cellulose ether compounds are formed from cellulose ether with one or more liquid antifoams incorporated therein. The inventive cellulose ether compounds are preferably used as modified cellulose ether in dry mortars for increasing the open time.
