A cubic boron nitride sintered material includes: more than or equal to 20 volume % and less than 80 volume % of cubic boron nitride grains; and more than 20 volume % and less than or equal to 80 volume % of a binder phase, and when a carbon content is measured from a cubic boron nitride grain into the binder phase in a direction perpendicular to an interface between the cubic boron nitride grain and the binder phase using TEM-EDX, a first region having a carbon content larger than an average value of a carbon content of the binder phase exists, the interface exists in the first region, and a length of the first region is more than or equal to 0.1 nm and less than or equal to 10 nm.

The process comprises the process steps: providing a carbon source; providing an amphiphilic species; contacting the carbon source and the amphiphilic species to obtain a precursor; and heating the precursor to obtain the porous carbon material; wherein the carbon source comprises a carbon source compound, wherein the carbon source compound comprises an aromatic ring having one or more attached OH groups and an ester link.

The present disclosure relates to a method for the preparation of a precursor solution for a ceramic of the BZT-aBXT type wherein X is selected from Ca, Sn, Mn and Nb and a is a molar fraction selected in the range between 0.10 and 0.90 comprising the steps of: a) dissolving at least one barium precursor compound and at least one precursor compound selected from the group consisting of a calcium precursor compound, a tin precursor compound, a manganese precursor compound and a niobium precursor compound in a linear or branched anhydrous alkyl alcohol containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms and, after dissolution, dehydrating by stripping, to obtain a first solution; b) dissolving at least one zirconium precursor compound and at least one titanium precursor compound in a linear or branched anhydrous alkyl alcohol containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms in the presence of an anhydrous chelating agent to obtain a second solution; c) joining said first and second solutions in an anhydrous environment and dehydrating by stripping to obtain said precursor solution. Other methods comprise processing aligned reinforcing additives and a resin comprising a PAEK to make an aligned reinforcing additives PAEK, aligned 1-2 dimensional flake material, or aligned 1-2 dimensional platelet material, to create a fabric, prepreg or tape comprising the aligned reinforcing additives and impregnated PAEK. Other methods comprise impregnating continuous fiber tape or fabric with a resin comprising PAEK and at least one reinforcing additive or co-weaving a continuous fiber or fabric with a PAEK fiber comprising PAEK and at least one reinforcing additive.
