LIGHTWEIGHT POLYMER AMMUNITION CARTRIDGE CASINGS
One embodiment of the present invention provides a polymeric ammunition cartridge and methods of making and using the same. The cartridge includes a substantially cylindrical insert connected to a substantially cylindrical polymeric middle body. The substantially cylindrical insert includes a top surface opposite a bottom surface and a substantially cylindrical coupling element that extends from the bottom surface, a primer recess in the top surface that extends toward the bottom surface, a primer flash hole positioned in the primer recess to extend through the bottom surface, and a flange that extends circumferentially about an outer edge of the top surface. The substantially cylindrical polymeric middle body includes a substantially cylindrical polymeric bullet-end and a substantially cylindrical polymeric coupling end connected by a powder chamber, wherein the substantially cylindrical polymeric coupling end extends over the substantially cylindrical coupling element and covers a circumferential surface of the primer flash hole.
Ceramic composition and electronic component using the ceramic composition
A ceramic composition in one embodiment contains, relative to 100 parts by mass of diopside crystal powder, 0.3 to 1.5 parts by mass of a Li component in terms of an oxide thereof and 0.1 to 1 part by mass of a B component in terms of an oxide thereof. In this embodiment, the content of the Li component in terms of an oxide thereof is larger than the content of the B component in terms of an oxide thereof. In this embodiment, a total content of the Li component and the B component is 2.25 parts by mass or less in terms of oxides thereof.
ARTICLES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Articles of manufacture such as ceramic cores and cast metal turbomachinery components are disclosed herein, as well as methods of preparing such articles of manufacture. The articles and methods of manufacture are directed to improving the production and performance of internal combustion engines.
CERAMIC SINTERED BODY AND MEMBER FOR PLASMA PROCESSING APPARATUS
The ceramic sintered body of the present disclosure has yttrium oxide as a main component and contains yttrium silicate, and a ratio (I.sub.1/I.sub.0) of a maximum peak intensity I.sub.1 of yttrium silicate having a diffraction angle 2θ of 30° to 32° with respect to a maximum intensity Io of yttrium oxide having a diffraction angle 2θ of 28° to 30°, which is obtained by an X-ray diffraction method, is 0.03 or more and 0.12 or less. The member for the plasma processing apparatus is made of the ceramic sintered body, its inside is a cylindrical body which serves as a flow path for a plasma generating gas, and an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical body contains a larger amount of yttrium silicate than an outer peripheral surface thereof.
BINDER COMPOSITION FOR METAL INJECTION MOLDING FEEDSTOCKS; METAL INJECTION MOLDING FEEDSTOCK COMPRISING THE SAME; METAL INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS USING THE FEEDSTOCK, AND ARTICLE OBTAINED BY THE PROCESS
The present invention relates to a feedstock for a Injection Molding Process, consisting of sinterable particles P made from a metal, a metal alloy, a cermet, a ceramic material, a glass, or a mixture of any of these; and a binder composition B, the binder composition B comprising a binder polymer B1, a polymeric compatibilizer B2, and optionally a release agent B3, and a MIM manufacturing process using the same.
Method for manufacturing a part made from a composite material by means of the injection of a laden ceramic slurry into a fibrous structure
A process for manufacturing a composite part includes arranging a fibrous preform in a mold including an impregnation chamber which includes in its lower part a filter by making a first face of the preform rest on the filter, the impregnation chamber being closed by a flexible membrane placed opposite a second face of the preform, the membrane separating the impregnation chamber from a compaction chamber. The process further includes injecting a compression fluid into the compaction chamber so as to apply a first pressure on the membrane and injecting a slurry including ceramic particles into the impregnation chamber with a second pressure while maintaining the injection of the compression fluid, the second injection pressure of the slurry being lower than the first pressure on the membrane.
