Fracking proppant and method of manufacture
A material useful as a proppant comprises a core chemically reacted in situ from coal dust and a polymer derived ceramic material, such that at least a portion of the coal dust is chemically converted to a ceramic, nanoparticles, graphene, nanofibers or combinations of any of these.
SYSTEM, PROCESS AND RELATED SINTERED ARTICLE
A process of forming a sintered article includes heating a green portion of a tape of polycrystalline ceramic and/or minerals in organic binder at a binder removal zone to a temperature sufficient to pyrolyze the binder; horizontally conveying the portion of tape with organic binder removed from the binder removal zone to a sintering zone; and sintering polycrystalline ceramic and/or minerals of the portion of tape at the sintering zone, wherein the tape simultaneously extends through the removal and sintering zones.
CARBON FOAM, ASSEMBLY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD
A carbon foam formed of carbon fibers, where, at 90% or more of any 20 locations, the carbon fibers have a fiber diameter that is within ±20% of an average fiber diameter.
CALCINED FERRITE, AND SINTERED FERRITE MAGNET AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

Method for constructing a printed ceramic object and a ceramic object constructed by the same
A system and a method for constructing a printed ceramic object, the method including the steps of extruding a substance to generate a 3D-printed elastomeric object; deforming the 3D-printed elastomeric object into a complex structure to form a printed elastomeric origami object; and transforming the printed elastomeric origami object into an aforesaid printed ceramic origami object.
System, process and related sintered article
A system, process and related sintered article are provided. The process includes supporting a piece of inorganic material with a pressurized gas and sintering the piece of inorganic material while supported by the pressurized gas by heating the piece of inorganic material to a temperature at or above a sintering temperature of the inorganic material such that the inorganic material is at least partially sintered forming the sintered article. The inorganic material is not in contact with a solid support during sintering. The sintered article, such as a ceramic article, is thin, has high surface quality, and/or has large surface areas.
GALLIUM NITRIDE PARTICLES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Provided are gallium nitride particles that have a low oxygen content and a high moldability and allow a gallium nitride sputtering target having a high density and a high strength to be produced. By causing a mixed powder of gallium oxide and gallium nitride to react at a temperature of 1000-1100° C. such that an ammonia reaction amount per hour is 1 or more times (by mole) an amount of gallium charged, gallium nitride particles are obtained of which an oxygen content is 1 atm % or less, an average particle size of primary particles is 5 μm or more, and a particle size of a range of 10 area % from smallest particles of a particle size distribution (10% particle size) is 3 μm or less.
