Process for producing high purity 1-butene
Methods of and systems for producing an olefin are disclosed. A paraffin is dehydrogenated to produce a mixture comprising the olefin and unreacted paraffin. The mixture is then fed to an extractive distillation unit that uses soybean oil as a solvent to extract at least some n-butane from the mixture.
ACID MODIFIED RED MUD AS A CATALYST FOR OLEFIN ISOMERIZATION
A system and a method for isomerizing a 2-butene feed stream to form a 1-butene product stream are provided. An exemplary method includes calcining the red mud, flowing a butene feedstock over the red mud in an isomerization reactor, and separating 1-butene from a reactor effluent.
Red mud as a catalyst for the isomerization of olefins
A systems and a method for isomerizing a feedstock to form an alpha-olefin product stream are provided. An exemplary method includes calcining the red mud, flowing an olefin feedstock over the red mud in an isomerization reactor, and separating the alpha-olefin from a reactor effluent.
Process for 1-butene production from n-butane dehydrogenation through efficient downstream separations
System and method for producing 1-butene are disclosed. The method includes dehydrogenating butane to form a mixture comprising butene isomers. 1-butene is separated from the mixture using a system that includes a membrane. The system also includes an isomerizing unit for isomerizing cis-2-butene and trans-2-butene to form additional 1-butene.

LINEAR-MONOOLEFIN MANUFACTURING METHOD AND COMPOUND MANUFACTURING METHOD
A method for producing linear monoolefins comprises a step of contacting a raw material composition containing a first linear monoolefin having 4 to 8 carbon atoms with an isomerization catalyst at 250 to 390° C. in the presence of 20 ppm by volume or more of molecular oxygen and/or 20 ppm by volume or more of water to perform an isomerization reaction for isomerizing at least a part of the first linear monoolefin to a second linear monoolefin having a different double bond position, wherein the catalyst contains zeolite.
METHOD FOR PURIFYING ISOBUTENE FROM A C4 STREAM AND PROCESS SYSTEM THEREFOR
A process for the purification of isobutene from a C4 stream with at least 1-butene, 2-butene, isobutane and isobutene includes isomerizing 1-butene from a stream of material which is concentrated in isobutane and isobutene obtained from the C4 stream into 2-butene, using a catalyst in an isomerization reactor; supplying a product stream from the isomerization reactor to a rectification column; and providing a stream of material which is concentrated in isobutene. A processing facility is utilized for the purification of isobutene from the C4 stream.
Olefin Isomerization Catalysts
A catalyst composition comprising MgO, Al.sub.2O.sub.3 and one or more further alkaline earth metal oxides, provides for outstanding catalytic production of propylene when employed together with a metathesis catalyst.
Method for producing p-xylene
Provided is a method for producing p-xylene, comprising: a provision step of providing a C4 fraction comprising at least isobutene as a product formed by fluidized catalytic cracking of a heavy oil fraction; a dimerization step of bringing a first raw material comprising the isobutene into contact with a dimerization catalyst to produce a C8 component comprising a dimer of isobutene; and a cyclization step of bringing a second raw material comprising the C8 component with a dehydrogenation catalyst to produce p-xylene through a cyclization/dehydrogenation reaction of the C8 component.
