The body may comprise a recess configured to receive the handle of the endoscope. The recess may extend from a proximal end of the body to a distal end of the body. The body may also comprise a palm support portion and a finger support portion proximal to the palm support portion. The body may further comprise a base support portion distal to the palm support portion.

Integrated illumination assembly for handheld medical devices

A medical device includes a handle portion downwardly extending from an examination portion. The handle portion has opposing upper and lower open ends and a through cavity extending therebetween. An illumination assembly mounted within the open upper end of cavity includes a housing, at least one battery disposed within the housing, and an LED disposed at the distal end of an arm extending from the housing. The housing is mounted through the open upper end of the through cavity. According to at least one version, the at least one battery can be removed without removing the housing from the handle portion. The extending arm is supported by the examination portion and configured to provide illumination to a medical target. The medical device can include a vaginal speculum, sigmoidoscope, laryngoscope, anoscope, or other hand-held medical device.

An endoscope (1) including a handle (2) arranged at a proximal end and an insertion tube (3) extending from said handle (2) towards a distal end, a bending section (7) arranged at the distal end and controllable by and operator via control input means (8) arranged at the handle (2); and at least one insertion tube part with at least one lumen, wherein the bending section (7) is displaceable in said lumen so as to be movable relative to the insertion tube (3) from a retracted position within said lumen to an extended position at least partially outside said lumen.

ENDOSCOPE ACCESSORY CONTROLS AND METHODS OF USE

A medical device includes a handle including a first slot, a first control device movable within the first slot in a proximal direction and a distal direction, and a sheath extending from the handle and having a longitudinal axis, the sheath defining a first lumen extending from the handle to a distal end of the sheath. A first tube extends within the first lumen, the first tube is connected to the first control device and moves between a first position, where a distalmost end of the first tube is flush with or proximal of a distalmost end of the sheath, and a second position, where the distalmost end of the first tube is positioned distal of the distalmost end of the sheath. The first slot extends parallel to the longitudinal direction of the sheath.

Multimodal endoscope and methods of use

An endoscope may include a needle and a scope, which may optionally be contained in an elongated shaft. The endoscope may further include a handle comprising at least one button, a visualization component, a reservoir configured to contain a composition, and a dispensing mechanism. The at least one button, the needle, the reservoir, and the dispensing mechanism may be operably linked to cause the composition to be dispensed from the reservoir through the needle to a portion of an ear. A method for using such an endoscope may include inserting the endoscope into a portion of an ear, using the visualization component to visualize the portion of the ear, and pressing the at least one button to dispense the composition from the reservoir through the needle to the portion of the ear.

There is described an apparatus comprising a first optical element, a second optical element and a spacing element for use with a mobile user device. The first optical element is configured to provide an image of an object to an intermediate image plane and the second optical element magnifies the image to provide a final image in a final image plane in which a camera aperture of the device is supported. The spacing element maintains a fixed separation between the object and the first optical element. Image magnification is achieved while also providing a space for tool access. Mirrors may be used to divert the optical path, allowing the optical path to be folded for more compact apparatus. A third optical element disposed at the intermediate image plane may be used to reduce vignetting effects in the final image.

SELF-LOCKING DEVICE OF ENDOSCOPE

A self-locking device of an endoscope includes a connecting assembly and a fitting assembly. The connecting assembly includes a driven gear and a toggle lever, and the driven gear and the toggle lever are fitted with each other through pins. The fitting assembly includes a driving gear, and the driving gear is engaged with the driven gear through the toggle lever. The self-locking device realizes self-locking with a desired effect through the engagement of the driven gear and the driving gear. Through the design of a lever structure, the self-locking device switches the driven gear and the driving gear between engaged and disengaged states without resorting to an external force of a part, which avoids the use of the part and extends the service life of the device.
