Outer Shaft for an Endoscope and Endoscope System
20230087086 · 2023-03-23 ·

An outer shaft for receiving a shaft of an endoscope comprises a proximal end region for receiving a proximal end region of the shaft of the endoscope, a sealing surface for resting on a corresponding sealing surface of the endoscope for locally fluid-tight sealing of an intermediate space between outer shaft and shaft of the endoscope and a radially inwardly protruding cleat in the proximal end region for proximally engaging behind a radially outwardly protruding cleat on the proximal end region of the shaft of the endoscope. The radially inwardly protruding cleat is provided on a section of the proximal end region of the outer shaft that is elastically deformable in the axial direction of the outer shaft.

An endoscope having an operating handle comprising a handle housing arranged at a proximal end and an insertion tube extending from said handle towards a distal end of the endoscope and terminating in a steerable tip part at the distal end of the endoscope, the endoscope further comprising a control mechanism with a Bowden cable having an outer guide tube having a first length between a proximal end and a distal end of said outer guide tube and an inner pull-wire having a second length between a proximal end and a distal end of said inner pull-wire, said second length being longer than said first length, the proximal end of the outer guide tube is affixed to the operating handle by means of an adhesive.

ENDOSCOPE MOUTHPIECE, DRAPE ADAPTER, AND ENDOSCOPE MOUTHPIECE DISPOSAL METHOD

An endoscope mouthpiece includes a mouthpiece body, a drape, and a fluid suppression member. The mouthpiece body has a pipe line and has an opening portion provided at an end of the pipe line on a side located outside a body of a patient. The drape is provided integrally with the mouthpiece body and covers a head of the patient. The fluid suppression member is provided in the opening portion to suppress passage of a fluid.

Intraoral scanner sleeve authentication and identification

Apparatuses, including sleeves, intraoral scanning systems to use these sleeves, and methods of using the sleeve, that authenticate the sleeve for use with an intraoral scanning system. Authentication may include verifying that the sleeve is new (unused) and/or verifying that the sleeve is appropriate and/or intended for use with the intraoral scanning system. Once authenticated, operation parameters of the intraoral scanning system can be automatically set based on information from a scanned identifier on the sleeve.

An articulated tip part for an endoscope having a number of hingedly connected segments including a distal end segment and a second segment, wherein adjacent segments are interconnected by at least one hinge member, whereby the tip part can be bent by means of the hingedly connected segments, wherein the distal end segment comprises a first steering wire guide for accommodating and guiding a steering wire, and wherein the second segment comprises an insertion guide with an entry in an outer circumferential surface of the second segment and an exit aligned with an entry into the first steering wire guide, whereby an end of a steering wire can be guided into the entry of the first steering wire guide via the insertion guide.

Compact Robotic Endoscope
20230128303 · 2023-04-27 ·

A medical endoscope that has a reusable portion to which either of two different single-use portions can be snapped in by hand to thereby form two different assembled endoscopes. When one of the single-use portions is assembled with the reusable portion, a motor in the reusable portion robotically rotates a cannula about a proximal end of the single use portion. When the other single-use portion is assembled with the reusable portion, the motor robotically angulates the distal end of the cannula. Another medical endoscope is single-use in its entirety and has motor-driven angulation of the cannula's distal end. Another has manually controlled angulation.
