An endoscope includes a channel tube provided in a direction of a longitudinal axis of an insertion section, and a pipe sleeve provided in the operation section and including a tube insertion hole on a distal end side, the proximal end side of the channel tube being inserted in the tube insertion hole. An inner diameter at a first position on a proximal end side of the pipe sleeve is larger than an inner diameter at a second position in a hole part that communicates with a proximal end of the tube insertion hole, the inner diameter at the second position of the pipe sleeve is smaller than an inner diameter at a third position in the tube insertion hole, and the pipe sleeve includes an abutting surface at the proximal end of the tube insertion hole.

IN-VIVO VISUALIZATION SYSTEM

Several embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to medical visualization systems that comprise combinations of disposable and resuable components, such as catheters, functional handles, hubs, optical devices, etc. Other embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to features and aspects of an in-vivo visualization system that comprises an endoscope having a working channel through which a catheter having viewing capabilities is routed. the catheter may obtain viewing capabilities by being constructed as a vision catheter or by having a fiberscope or other viewing device selectively routed through one of its channels. The catheter is preferably of the steerable type so that the distal end of the catheter may be steered from its proximal end as it is advanced with the body. A suitable use for the in-vivo visualization system includes but is not limited to diagnosis and/or treatment of the duodenum, and particularly the biliary tree.

INTEGRATED ILLUMINATION ASSEMBLY FOR HANDHELD MEDICAL DEVICES

A medical device includes a handle portion downwardly extending from an examination portion. The handle portion has opposing upper and lower open ends and a through cavity extending therebetween. An illumination assembly mounted within the open upper end of cavity includes a housing, at least one battery disposed within the housing, and an LED disposed at the distal end of an arm extending from the housing. The housing is mounted through the open upper end of the through cavity. According to at least one version, the at least one battery can be removed without removing the housing from the handle portion. The extending arm is supported by the examination portion and configured to provide illumination to a medical target. The medical device can include a vaginal speculum, sigmoidoscope, laryngoscope, anoscope, or other hand-held medical device.

Method for manufacture of a tip part and a tip part for an endoscope

A method for manufacture of a tip part for an endoscope including providing a camera assembly with an image sensor and a circuit board; providing a distal end segment having a distal end and a circumferential wall enclosing a spacing; providing an exterior housing having a circumferential wall enclosing a spacing; inserting the distal end of the camera assembly in the spacing of the exterior housing; positioning the proximal end of the exterior housing adjacent to the distal end of the distal end segment; injecting an adhesive into the spacing of the distal end segment so that at least parts of the circuit board are embedded in the adhesive; and allowing or causing the adhesive to harden; whereby the distal end segment, camera assembly and exterior housing form an assembled tip part of an endoscope attached to each other by means of the adhesive.

Smart Endoscope

A system is described herein. The system includes a smart nasogastric tube and a computing device. A distal end of the smart nasogastric tube is received by an internal area of a patient and includes a tip, a non-heating light source, and a camera. The tip includes a plurality of side holes or slots used for suctioning and an offset diagonal funneled slot proximate the camera used to pass a sponge brush under direct visualization. The camera is configured to capture a high definition and color video of the internal area of the patient and transmit the video to an application of a computing device. The smart nasogastric tube also includes a central tube for suctioning, feeding or lavage with a proximal port. The application of the computing device receives the video from the camera such that a healthcare professional can view the video in real-time. The video may further be transmitted to a third-party via a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) compliant message or live video stream. The smart nasogastric tube may be presented to patients in many points of implementation, such as emergency departments, urgent care centers, a family practitioners officer, or a medical ward.
