SAFETY LOGIC FOR SURGICAL SUTURING SYSTEMS
20230074951 · 2023-03-09 ·

A surgical suturing tracking system is disclosed. The surgical suturing tracking system is configured to detect and guide a suturing needle during a surgical suturing procedure. The surgical suturing track system comprises a control circuit configured to predict a path of a needle suturing stroke after receiving an input from a clinician, detect an embedded tissue structure, and assess proximity of the predicted path and the detected embedded tissue structure.

Ingestible device with propulsion and imaging capabilities

Introduced here is an ingestible device comprising a capsule, a camera, an antenna, and a propulsion component. The camera can capture images of various in vivo environments as the ingestible device traverses the gastrointestinal tract, and these images can be wirelessly transmitted to an electronic device located outside of the living body. The images may be transmitted to the electronic device for review by an operator responsible for controlling the ingestible device.

Clamping mechanisms for robotic surgical tools

A robotic surgical tool includes a drive housing having first and second ends, at least one spline extending between the first and second ends and including a drive gear that rotates with rotation of the spline, and a carriage mounted to the spline. A closure tube extends from the carriage through the first end and has an end effector arranged at a distal end. An activating mechanism is housed in the carriage and includes a driven gear coupled to the drive gear such that rotation of the drive gear rotates the driven gear, and a carrier arranged at a proximal end of the closure tube and coupled to the driven gear such that rotation of the driven gear moves the carrier and the closure tube axially along a longitudinal axis of the closure tube. Moving the closure tube along the longitudinal axis closes or opens end effector jaws.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A COLONOSCOPE

A control system for a colonoscope having a shaft deflectable via two rotatable knobs is provided. The system includes a first drive unit mounted externally to a housing of the colonoscope. The first drive unit includes a first drive mechanism for engaging the two rotatable knobs or gears replacing the two rotatable knobs. The system further includes a second drive unit attachable to the shaft of the endoscope. The second drive unit is capable of linearly translating the shaft forward and backward. A user interface engageable by a palm of a hand controls the first drive mechanism.

SURGICAL SEALING DEVICES FOR A NATURAL BODY ORIFICE

Surgical sealing ports for use with surgical instruments for access of a natural body orifice are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical sealing port includes a seal housing and at least one retention element. The seal housing is configured to be at least partially disposed within a natural body orifice and defining a plurality of ports. The plurality of ports includes at least one first port configured to control the ingress and egress of fluid between an interior volume of the natural body orifice and an ambient environment, and at least one second port that is configured to form a seal around an instrument inserted therethrough. The at least one retention element is arranged on an exterior surface of the housing and configured to affix the housing to the natural body orifice. Methods for using the same are also provided.

SURGICAL DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS USING MULTI-SOURCE IMAGING

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ROBOTIC BRONCHOSCOPY

An endoscopic robotic arm system and apparatus is provided. The devices and systems comprise various features improving the cost efficiency and reducing the complexity of manufacturing as well as usage. Disposable elongate members are described herein. The user interface device may also be adapted to the user behavior and may be personalized.

EndoInspect Apparatus, System and Method

Advances in endoscope inspection systems to provide for evidence of the cleanliness of critical portions of the instrument's interior. Utilizing borescope sensing technology, the precise location of the borescope within the endoscope can be repeatedly established is in order to establish the healthy condition of the endoscope. Light intensity of cleaning paraphernalia may be adjusted to prevent endoscope damage.

Rollerless tubular connector for transferring rotative force from insertion section of endoscope to spiral tube

A tubular connector for use with a spiral tube used on an insertion section of an endoscope. The tubular connector including: an outer surface; an inner surface; and a plurality of cams circumferentially spaced on the inner surface to project radially inward from the inner surface, the plurality of cams extending in a longitudinal direction of the tubular connector; wherein each of the plurality of cams have one or more cam surfaces configured to engage a rotating member to rotate the spiral tube. The plurality of cams can alternatively be formed directly on an interior surface of the spiral tube.

INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, MEDICAL SYSTEM AND CANNULATION METHOD

An information processing system, including a processor comprising hardware. The processor being configured to: acquire an endoscope image from an endoscope, the endoscope image showing a papillary portion, determine route information of a lumen based on the endoscope image, the lumen being at least one of a biliary duct or a pancreatic duct, generate a display image based on a result of the determination of the route information of the lumen, the display image having a route guide image to provide guidance of a route of the lumen leading to the papillary portion superimposed on the endoscope image, and display the display image on a display.
