Systems and methods are provided for preparation of orthodontics and prosthodontics. A method may include scanning a patient's teeth to form first 3D data of the patient's teeth including a removable element that obscures part of the dental surfaces of the patient's teeth and non-obscured tooth surfaces, removing the removable element form the patient's teeth so that the removable element no longer obscures the part of the dental surfaces of the patient's teeth, and scanning the previously obscured part of the dental surfaces of the patent's teeth and the non-obscured tooth surfaces.
OPTICAL IMAGING SYSTEM
Provided herein are imaging systems for a patient including an imaging probe and an imaging assembly. The imaging probe includes: an elongate shaft with a proximal end, a distal portion, and a lumen extending between the proximal end and the distal portion; a rotatable optical core with a proximal end and a distal end, and at least a portion of the rotatable optical core is positioned within the lumen of the elongate shaft; and an optical assembly positioned proximate the distal end of the rotatable optical core, the optical assembly configured to direct light to tissue to be imaged and collect reflected light from the tissue to be imaged. The imaging assembly is constructed and arranged to optically couple to the imaging probe. The imaging assembly is configured to emit light into the imaging probe and receive the reflected light collected by the optical assembly.

In some embodiments, a probe for capsule-based multimode endoscopy is provided, the probe comprising: a rigid capsule; a flexible tether coupled to a proximal end of the capsule; a rotatable reflective surface disposed within the capsule; a static ball lens disposed within the capsule; a first optical fiber optically coupled to the ball lens, the first optical fiber passing through the flexible tether; a second optical fiber optically coupled to the ball lens, the second optical fiber passing through the flexible tether; a graded index fiber disposed between a distal end of the second optical fiber and the ball lens, the graded index fiber optically coupled to the second optical fiber and the ball lens.

An endoscope system includes: an insertion body inserted into a lumen; an objective optical system that is provided in the insertion body and acquires light from a subject as subject light; an image sensor that performs imaging based on the subject light to acquire a captured image within a field of view; a turning mechanism that causes a distal end of the insertion body to rotate around a reference axis that is an axis of the insertion body; an advancing/retreating mechanism that moves the insertion body in a direction corresponding to the reference axis; and a processor that includes hardware and is configured to control the turning mechanism and the advancing/retreating mechanism to control the field of view of the image sensor. The processor controls the turning mechanism and the advancing/retreating mechanism to perform scan of an inner wall of the lumen based on the field of view.

A system includes an emitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation. The system includes a controller comprising a processor in electrical communication with the image sensor and the emitter, wherein the controller synchronizes timing of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation during a blanking period of the image sensor. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises a laser scanning pattern.

The location estimating feature is configured to real-time locate the 3D spatial position of the surgical tool at any given time t, and the movement detection feature is configured to detect movement of the surgical tool.

Devices, systems, and methods for stent detection and apposition are disclosed. Embodiments obtain a plurality of images of intravascular image data of a vessel wall and an endovascular device, generate a signal that represents the plurality of images, identify one or more images that correspond to the endovascular device based on the signal that represents the plurality of images, generate a representation of a three-dimensional (3D) shape of the endovascular device based on the one or more images, determine an apposition value of the endovascular device relative to the vessel wall using a representation of a 3D shape of a lumen segment that corresponds to the endovascular device, the apposition value based on a volume difference between the 3D shape of the lumen segment and the 3D shape of the endovascular device, and present information indicating the apposition value.
